Ooooh uni! Yay for the awesome start!! I hope the classes are just as mint (lol trust nerdy me to care more about the education side!!!!)
Re: TheLastSongbird's Blog
aww, hope there will be a new moonchild :] and all goes well through the good times and bad.
Re: TheLastSongbird's Blog
Thankyou everyone ^^ I'm so lucky, because not everyone in halls likes all their flatmates. In fact, everyone in my flat is quite a lot like me, in that they're not super outgoing, but they're friendly and will talk to people. I still feel a little bit homesick, but I don't feel alone any more. Just another sign that I'm heading down the right path in life
I will keep you all posted about everything that goes on Love you guys, no matter how many new friends I make, you Moon Children will always be special to me

Re: TheLastSongbird's Blog
I feel so different...not different in the sense that I've changed at all. I suppose it's just the excitement of this new experience. There's a real sense of freedom that comes with it I saw my boyfriend yesterday, he's at the same uni as me, and he seems to have been affected by it too. There was definitely a vibe about him, something new that I hadn't seen before he moved here.
I'm so glad we're sharing this experience. I love him to bits, he's one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I told him I was feeling homesick, and he came over to my flat to cheer me up I go all gooey and soppy just thinking about his face. We've been together for a year and 3 months now and I still feel that he's The One, my soulmate. I'm so fortunate to have found him so soon ^^
And now I'm going to stop, before I start rambling about my boyfriend. Even though he's fabulous and wonderful and I love him with all my heart ♥

Re: TheLastSongbird's Blog
I'm starting to like living away from home. Being able to eat whenever I want is a definite plus. So is living with my lovely flatmates, and being just a couple of minutes' walk away from my boyfriend and his lovely flatmates ^^
I did my own laundry for the first time today, I feel so accomplished! xD A sock managed to get lost somewhere along the line though...I hadn't fully appreciated what a mystery socks going missing in the wash is until today O.o LOL!
Tomorrow's adventure - first food shopping trip methinks

It's so nice to see that you're enjoying the college experience Except for the mystery sock! Haha I usually find mine days later in a random pant leg or sheets or something.

Re: TheLastSongbird's Blog
Hmm, my socks seem to disappear off the face of the planet and never return xD
I have my first lecture tomorrow! I'm a bit nervous, but excited all the same. I wonder what we'll be doing. I've been off my creative stride for a while, but maybe it's just been conserving itself for the next year. It has felt like I've been stockpiling ideas while not being able to write them down. I'm looking forward to being able to enjoy my work and studies, rather than it seeming like a chore like it did in school.
After tomorrow, I have the Freshers' Ball on Friday and a visit home for the weekend to look forward to I'm pretty sure I'll cry when I see my family again. I've missed them so much. It's true that you don't realise what you've got till it's gone: my wonderful little sister to have a laugh with, my mum for unconditional love and support and my stepdad who has become the best dad anyone could ask for. I'm crying just typing this...I'm so lucky and I try to remind myself whenever I can not to take for granted the fact that I am so loved. That's all anyone ever needs =')
I'm going to make my family proud and show them who they have helped me become. The songbird now has the chance to spread her wings. I'm going to make the very most of this experience, knowing that I have my loved ones supporting me all the way

Re: TheLastSongbird's Blog
Awwh, thankyou! ^^ My first day in Uni went brilliantly. I've met all my lecturers, and so far I like one in particular. He seems so in touch with how reading and writing can have such an effect on human emotion, thought and memory. We had a discussion about the books we remember from childhood and what impact they had on us, and he listened and responded with sincerity. We then read a short story and I wasn't afraid to give my contribution to the discussion afterwards, which is a good sign that I'll get along with him as a teacher. He seems a sensitive person, like me, in that emotion comes into play with anything creative I come into contact with.
I love being able to read people. It's always the people I can read into most deeply that I get along with best. We've been set a task to write a short story already, so I'm looking forward to sharing my work next week. Of course, I'll be sharing what I write with all you Moon Children too ^^

Re: TheLastSongbird's Blog
It's a BA (Bachelor of Arts) Honours degree in Creative Writing. Purely workshop and coursework based, with no exams My kind of a course. Because it's a BA Honours degree, when I've graduated, I could have letters after my name if I wanted x3
Today's lesson went so quickly! I was there for 3 hours, and it felt like I'd been there for less than an hour. We talked a lot about inspiration, imagination and how/when we actually write. It was so interesting to discover that there are a few people in my group who are a lot like me as to their personalities and what they believe and enjoy reading. I can share my opinions, which is a big step for me, as I felt I couldn't in school without being put down by others. I feel we will bounce ideas off each other a lot. It's going to be great!
I've persuaded a mature student in my group to listen to Kerli. I will ask her what she thinks when I see her next week Sharing the Moon Child love is such fun ^^
I can't wait to get home tomorrow and tell my family about the last two weeks. I can't believe how happy I am with my new life already, I thought it would take me much longer to feel accepted. We truly are a like-minded bunch in Creative Writing. We're all excited about sharing our ideas and there's an aura of openness whenever I'm in a class. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again next week

Re: TheLastSongbird's Blog
Thankyou, both of you ^^ I don't usually wear much makeup anyway, if at all. I just have good and bad face days, like everyone else xD
I got back to my flat last night after a lovely but short-lived weekend at home. One of the first things I did was come on ToL, because I was feeling homesick again already. Within a few minutes of being on here I started to feel better without anyone actively saying anything to cheer me up. Never before has a forum had such a positive feeling to it for me. You people are so uplifting to chat with, it always warms my heart to read your posts and see each individual personality shining through your words. Thankyou, all of you, for being yourselves.

Re: TheLastSongbird's Blog
I had some sort of idea of how much better than school uni would be, but I wasn't expecting life here to be this great. Now I'm used to living without my parents doing laundry, shopping and cooking for me and generally being around, I'm feeling more and more that this is the right thing for me.
The people here are brilliant, I haven't come across anyone I don't get on with yet I've had so much fun so far, and I've learned new things about myself already. For instance, I never thought I could go out shopping or clubbing with a group of boys and be perfectly comfortable and have fun, but I have, on several occasions. My boyfriend's flatmates (all guys!) are wonderful, kind, funny and crazy and I'm grateful to know them all. Not to mention one of them likes Kerli! He's doing a fashion design course and he's warm, friendly, but with a dark, twisted side. He and I are going to get on so well xD
Then there are the people in the Theatre Society, who I met on Monday. We had a great time playing games and discussing what would be happening in the way of events, trips and productions. It's not going to be hard to make friends with everyone. I'm looking forward to seeing them again tomorrow ^^ Then there's the Cops and Robbers themed Theatre Society social night next Monday! I'll be sorting out the rest of my robber costume, plus my Halloween costume this weekend. There's a fancy dress Halloween party going on at an awesome club in the city centre on Halloween night, that guarantees shocks and surprises. I'm so excited, it's going to be my first ever Halloween party! I'm thinking of going Kerlified-Guro-Lolita and dressing up as a creepy doll, with plenty of fake blood and dark eye makeup. Some shiny body gems may be in order too
Now, I am going to get ready to go over to my boyfriend's flat and head out into town from there. Party timeee!

^ Yeah, I was thinking of using body gems to make Moon Marks and the 'tears' Kerli has under her eyes in Walking On Air I'm going to bandage my arms and soak them with fake blood, and I've discovered I already have a corset-style top and black, lacy, ripped-up-looking skirt that would look perfect I'm going to get a fascinator or mini-hat too, something with a little veil that goes over one eye
I'm loving this Halloween already, and I still have nearly a month to wait xD
I will make sure I take pictures for you all

Aww, it would be amazing if you could go. Having a Moon Child Halloween party would be great though, we would all come up with the best costumes
Haha, are you seriously offering to make me a hat? Mimi, have I ever told you I love you <3 lol! One thing though, if you were to make me a mini hat, it would have to be on a hairband of some sort. Clips and combs slip right out of my hair. I hope that wouldn't be too much trouble. Also, can I give you a couple of design specifications, as it were? I already have some ideas about how I want it to look

Re: TheLastSongbird's Blog
Ah, alright, that's good
As for the ideas, my outfit is purple and black with a bit of silver, so the top hat can be any combination of those colours. I'd like spiderwebs or cobwebs to be part of the design and something to add a bit of sparkle, anything you like Also, it would be great if it could have some sort of veil that goes over one eye. Have fun and be as creative as you like I'm so excited to see what you make! Thankyou for offering to do this for me, I'll be so proud to wear it to the party ^^ I'm sure people will be jealous, hehe
