You'll love the book!
It is the freaking best.
Did you get the signed version?
Me and my sister both chipped in and got the last edition that is signed and still has errors!
It is missing a page!
But you really feel like you know her after you read it.
Maybe it was just me, (because I have manic depression and bipolar)
but you really feel like you are close friends with her when you are finished with it.
It's amazing
But it takes you like, forever to read. lol.
Oh well.
I love long books.
Re: Emilie Autumn
I saw her live for the first time on friday 13th. She was amazing!

Re: Emilie Autumn
Aww, Jayson xD
I'd love to have the book as well, but I'm always broke, or when I have the money, the book is sold out >_>
I saw her live a few weeks ago, and it was the best concert of my life so far <3 I even touched Maggot when she jumped into the audience :O
Also, I love how they had more interesting and original stuff to sell there, not just posters and T-shirts! I bought a key necklace and a perfume (and got a poster of Veronica for free for buying the necklace). I believe that owning these items is more meaningful than just a shirt (although I wouldn't mind having that as well xD).

Re: Emilie Autumn
Yeah, they sold the perfume in tiny cute bottles, with the cork and one side of the bottle painted golden... "The scent of a cannibal" or something it was called. It smells weird but quite nice :D I must take a picture of the bottle and the necklace :>jayson526 wrote:-_- you mean that she now sells the perfume she talked about.....i want it i want it i want itForace wrote:Aww, Jayson xD

that sounds awesome!
i wish i could have seen her in Bristol. but my parents really disapprove of her music, they say emilie and her music are 'too overly sexual' for me to listen to it, and when i was told i couldn't buy her opheliac album, or buy tickets to her concert in bristol, i was trying my best not to scream at them. they really don't get the music i'm into

My parents are kind of like that too especially with the clothes that I tend to wear It just needs time and patience to make them understant that these things mean to you and if you don't manage to do so until you are 18 then it won't matter cause you will be able to do whatever you want anyway

Re: Emilie Autumn
Have you tried to talk to your parents about it and them that this is who you are and how this music makes you feel. Like PinkBarrierLou said it will take time and patience for them to understand and as you're young they just want to do what they think is best for you. I know its frustrating but don't worry too much

Re: Emilie Autumn
you're right i suppose they have only listened to 'marry me' and 'thank god i'm pretty', which i think they didn't like. i'll leave it for a bit before approaching them with the topic of emilie again

Re: Emilie Autumn
Maybe Eve, you show them songs that doesn't have such a dark meaning behind it? When I showed mum EA I only show the lighter songs like Self-medicate with tea and her covers.
EA's music is really quite sarcastic and dark afterall I can see why it would be disapproved of.
My mum has no problem with Emilie Autumn seeing how she can relate to the songs like MLC (she has bi-polar too) and Miss Autumn really does amuse her.
Dad on the other hand got concern about how morbid I was on facebook (assuming by the lyrics I post on) xD

Well she did sound absolutely great, if not better than on studio recording when I saw her live!

She can sing, she has a very powerful voice, and live she was... absolutely amazing. But sometimes her voice cracks and it sounds funny, but it's still awesome :D Then again, I'm pretty much tone deaf.EetuJaKeijut wrote:Well she did sound absolutely great, if not better than on studio recording when I saw her live! :DDarkMoon wrote:My parents don't mind me listening to EA but they did say she can't sing lol I didn't argue cause I show one of her live performance where she sounds really bad :/ my brother love unlaced lol

When I saw her live she sounded amazing! I think she sounds better live than the studio version. Maybe sometimes she just has a bad day and doesn't sing as well as she is able to, it happens xD

I saw her on the last date of the FLAG Tour, absolutely amazing, even better than the first/last time I saw her. I also managed to get a (signed) copy of The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls, I haven't finished it yet but it is a great read so far.....

It took a while BUT I TOOK A PICTURE xD Here's the handmade key necklace, with a genuine 100-year-old English key and the perfume bottle I bought from Emilie's concert!jayson526 wrote:AND DO IT DO IT DO IT I WANNA SEE PRETTY BOTTLE
Re: Emilie Autumn
@Forace. I got Veronica Varlow's necklace - the message in the bottle with the authentic key from the concert! It is way cool(:
Re: Emilie Autumn
@PoeticAbomination(:, I'd like to know who made my key necklace! I should have asked, but the dude selling them said I was very beautiful and kind, so I was kinda flabbergasted and just forgot everything xD I would've bought everything there, but I didn't want to spend all my money... These two items are enough, for now! I'll buy more if she comes back, hehe.
I did get Veronica's poster (signed!) for buying the necklace :3

Re: Emilie Autumn
The new album has a lot of songs that don't appeal to me at all, but it also has my favorite Emilie songs ever, like Time For Tea and Take The Pill.
Need to listen more but so far it's a little average for being EA album.

It doesn't flow as well as it could've but I love FLAG. Especially "Take the Pill", "Goodnight, Sweet Ladies" and "One Foot in Front of the Other".

I really like the album. It's not my favorite by her, but I like that she tried something different. My favorites are "What Will I Remember", "If I Burn", "Good Night Sweet Ladies" and "Time for Tea".

Re: Emilie Autumn
I adore Emilie Autumn, she is a genious and utterly hilarious on stage. She can be so goofy yet so serious XD
I did not like her new album however...it was supposed to be sort of a soundtrack to her book and since I haven't read it nor have the mass amount of money to buy it, I feel as if I don't understand it. I listened to the whole album but knew I was missing something...so it was a bit of a disappointment. The 4 O'Clock Reprise was so beautiful off of it though <3 Emilie has inspired some of my own lyrics as well, I think she is one of the most talented women in the music business for her violin, voice, and lyrical skills.

I adore FLAG. I'm not too fond of Scavenger, I like the concept, it just gets repetitive for me. Time For Tea and Take the Pill are my absolute faves from that album!
Re: Emilie Autumn
I'm a bit disappointed with her last album. Time For Tea is kinda the only one I really like....

Re: Emilie Autumn
Take The Pill is by far the best but the live version is much more emotional and it just holds a much deeper meaning. I think alot of the songs were better live because it showed the true emotions of the songs. The album is just too calm and refined compared to the live performances

The point of the album version (imo) was to sound emotionless. She's playing the ward doctor - the one who fed her with medicine that fucked with her mind, the one who tortured her and her friends, the one who did not give a damn about what they were going through. It's the lack of emotions that scares the hell out of me in the album version. Take the pill, take the pill, take the pill.... no matter what the consequences are because none of them cares about the consequences.
However, I do prefer live versions over album ones ><
Also, SO GLAD I FOUND THIS THREAD.
I LOVE EMILIE
