It's so tough to pick my favourite songs, because I'm loving every song I listen to at the moment. I love What If, Rapunzel, Marry Me, Ever, Shalott, Rose Red, Chambermaid...so many xD

They've probably seen the price of a rare version of Enchant on Ebay and thought that's what they're all worth, lol

Re: Emilie Autumn
I didn't like her at first, but now I'm starting to. Some of her stuff is TOTALLY not my type. When she sings so fast it's like "UGH!" She has great lyrics, but you lose them all. And not to mention that if you were to speak them normally there is usually a bad flow, so I'm thinking that she does it at that speed to hide that she doesn't know how to work with flow.
But that's besides the point. She has GREAT things out there. "Save You" is absolutely heart breaking! I get goosebumps listening to it. Her ballad-y stuff is just to DIE for!

Her ballads are lovely, but I prefer her non-flowy Opheliac era work

Re: Emilie Autumn
I've hear Emilie Autumn live in Estonia and I can confirm that she truly HAS an amazing live voice (better than on the albums),she is a talented pianist and also a great violinist. she broke a string onstage and she managed to finish her song seriously well. she just improvised her song from where the string broke.
plus all of her visuals are A+ worth to see.

it was in Tapper...2009 in spring
17 of April-a few pictures are here http://pilt.delfi.ee/album/120180/
it was a small show. VERY less people. about 100 max.
I guess nobody knows her in Estonia, that's why

Re: Emilie Autumn
I agree that she's worth checking out. I really like some of her songs off Opheliac (esp. Misery Loves Company, Liar, Gothic Lolita, Dead is the New Alive), but the rest of it just isn't for me, I guess.
Well, I might have liked Enchant if I were younger and still into things more like Tori Amos. If you like older EA, you might like some Tori. (or not, I could be way off)

Re: Emilie Autumn
Eeee, I am so excited I found this topic! Been an EA muffin since the Enchant Era, and still a huge fan. Amazon recommended it to me years back and I saw the cover with her dressed as a purple faerie and it was love at first sight. Huge fan! Saw her live for the first time a year ago, and now I'm seeing her live again on Feb 17th and I have VIPs!!!!! Do you know what this means?!?!?!? I GET TO MEET HER! *Squeals with delight!*
I know a lot of people say they can't get used to her voice, but that's exactly what drew me to her. Same with Kerli. And Bjork. If an artist doesn't stand out to me, and sound different than the rest, they are not worth my time.
Also, her book, The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls is PHENOMENAL if you have not read it and get a chance to. I know it's crazy expensive but it is sooooo worth it. Giant, hard-cover, full color, beautiful goodness (and cheaper than school textbooks of the same size and type, I might add)! She is quite the amazing writer and poet. I would recommend her book and her poetry e-book to anyone!
My favorite songs by her:
Enchant Era: Rapunzel, Rose Red, Across the Sky, By the Sword, and Castle Down
Opheliac Era: Opheliac, Swallow, Misery Loves Company, 4O'Clock, 306, Dead is the New Alive (Dope Stars remix) and Shalott
Instrumental: Unlaced, Manic Depression, Dominant, and Leech Jar, and her ENTIRE Laced cd (I simply cannot study and do homework or writing without it!)
Also, random but true fact: this (Table of Love) is the first non EA / Bloody Crumpet forum I've ever joined. Just joined today in fact. Happy I did!

Re: Emilie Autumn
Wow! Enchant era? Nice I didn't become a fan until about three years ago myself. And lucky, she's not coming to my state on this tour The first time I can afford to see her and she's not even coming here! (/mini rant xD)
I can't get enough of her book. I bought the bundle (:
ToL > The EA forum. I can no longer stand that place :/ Such negativity now.
But who's your favorite BC? I'm a Veva lover myself

Re: Emilie Autumn
I discovered EA right before or right at the time Opheliac was released, because amazon.com randomly suggested Enchant to me, but I didn't get to see any of the Enchant Era, nor did I become a major fan until 3 years ago.
As far as my favorite Bloody Crumpet, it's VeVa all the way! But Aprella is a close second!!! They are both soooo sweet and kind. I love them all, though.
I agree about the forum. I pretty much use it to stay up to date on Bloody Crumpet related stuff, since it is updated more than the individual Crumpet forums. But that is about it. :'(

Ahhh, nice (:
Veva > Maggots > Aprella > Contessa
I don't bother logging in anymore, especially since EA keeps everyone update on Twitter.

Lilee wrote:I like that she uses an array of styles in her music. I didn't really show that it the previews I put up though ^^; (I put up her fairy-ish songs).
I can't really pick a fav song by her, I pretty much like them all. I've been a big fan of her for a while now. Rumor has it she's working on a new album!
Her new album is called Fight Like A Girl! Check out the interview she did for MTV Brazil. EA is amazing in so many different ways. One thing that is really different about her is that she is so versatile. Her music has a million different sounds and styles, so does her fashion, her artwork, her speach even....She's so unique and intelligent besides being ridiculously talented. She makes all of her clothes and stage sets too.
Have you read her book yet? I'm itching to read it, so many juicy secrets inside, and I'm sad that I don't have the book because I could have taken it with me to the concert in febuary thats coming up.

Re: Emilie Autumn
nahhh, FLAG is a great title , only because she's "taking back the meaning of what it is" and that she wants to "turn it into a positive phrase" instead of the insult that it is used as today. I hope she really pushes this, and that others catch onto it and spread it, she said "we took back words like bitch" etc, and now we need to take back "FLAG". I will definitely join in and start using the phrase as a positive one, because I believe that as a girl who will grow up into a strong woman, When I FIGHT I FIGHT to the death (relent/give up to no one) XD
Even though it sounds silly, the phrase will take on a whole new meaning for the plague rats (if you've gone to any of her concerts she says this all the time). Then it will become fun to say, and be used to encourage friends who are in a rough time.

I'm totally looking forward to the new album. I love her style, vocals and lyrics but many of her compositions on Opheliac were really average imo.
I really love her tho

Re: Emilie Autumn
I'm so happy, I met a fellow Plague Rat who's at Derby uni tonight ^^ Now I have someone to go to her next concert in the UK with!
It was so epic, I was round at her flat with my boyfriend and his flatmates, I went into her room and came face to face with an Emilie Autumn poster. I just stared at it for a few seconds and said "Don't tell me...you're an Emilie Autumn fan?!" Then we were all giggly about it for ages :') Sooo freakin' happy!
