New Kerli album 2016

Don't think we will get them 2 songs now.

Can Kerli leak old songs? or is it illegal?

I think she posted once that she doesn't have the rights to the songs she made with IDJ anymore. So I doubt she could leak them herself if that's the case. I'm actually surprised "Dollface" and "Bubblegum" weren't leaked years ago back with "When You Cry".

Yeah. Last time Kerli seemed annoyed when people asked her about old songs.

She said in an interview that her favorite song she's ever recorded is probably going to be her next single. She cut the interviewer off when he asked for details on the track And I'm starting to lose hope too, tbh. Imagine if we could go back to 2009 and tell the fans that we're approaching mid-2014, we've only gotten one official single, her second album "miscarriaged" in a musical sense, and we might not get her "third" album (which is technically her second album) until 2015...

I know everyone else wants her to return to music like Love Is Dead, Walking On Air, etc. but I really love Stardust and Blue Skies Ahead. Can't Control the Kids is pretty old now, but epic too. And Legends. Her piece on Facebook about how she's completely come to terms with reality, isn't afraid of darkness and death, etc. really struck a chord with me too. I hope there are songs on the album that reflect that kind of philosophy.

Also... am I the only one who keeps checking the BMI database for new tracks???

I'm just getting really sad now.
Kerli is decaying and there isn't anything we can do. TOL is suffering as well. With nothing to talk about, there's inactivity. Kerli should talk more music and less buzznet lists of things she likes.

She ought to play new songs live. Even just an unofficial version of two or three new songs she's recorded, I'm DYING to hear new material. Don't get me wrong, I love all of her songs from the Utopia era, but I'm so tired of hearing Zero Gravity and CCTK over and over and over... and that remix of The Lucky Ones... girl... give us some new songs!

I check BMI occasionally, but most of those songs seem like stuff we're never going to get to hear, so it's kind of disappointing.

I really wish Kerli would talk about music on her buzznet also. I'd love for her to post poems or maybe lyrics from songs (or if she's not allowed to maybe post lyric from songs she doesn't plan on recording). I really like her honest fb posts recently though.

I really liked Kerli and her music to.. But I'M starting to lose hope in a new album any time soon. This album being pushed back all the time is really annoying. Empty promises. Music videos or singles we never got. I doubt we will  get new music ( full Album) this year. Don't mean to sound negative. Just how I've been feeling. I want new music so bad. Yeah. So bored & tired of  Utopia. i'll just stick with my other new music for now. Least they post updates about what they are doing music wise.

Yeah. Kerli doesn't post much about any new music. Or update us. She just posts silly stuff I don't really care for. I REALY REALLY miss the old days.

Artists these days are held back by companies and labels. Poor Kerli is one of those artists. I wish she could be more free.

The longer a label keeps pushing back an artists album is a why to lose fans a long the why. People get sick of waiting. I kind of thought with her changing labels the ball would get rolling with music quickly. Hopeful it will be out next year. If not I give up waiting.

SAME. She even said that her label agreed with her on what the singles should be... and she said she has an album full of material! Not to mention the secret project with AFSHeeN, and Perfect Crush with tyDi... You'd think she would at least be telling us to prepare for a single soon. It makes me wonder if the label doesn't have enough money to promote her or something. "Singles this year for sure" isn't very reassuring... I am really excited to see what kind of music she releases, though. I know 100% for sure it will be heavily electronic because Ultra is an EDM label, so I'm hoping for something really four-on-the-floor, rave-inspired, with thumpin' bass, but more of an honest focus on life issues than what we got off of Utopia. Kind of like how she said the second album would be "like a best friend" back in 2011.

Yes! She did say something like that. I was feeling very happy when she changed labels. Now I start to wonder. I hope this label won't screw her over too. I want new music from Kerli. How much longer must we wait. I mean if she's has tons of material why can't she put out another EP on ITunes? How does the label expect us to wait?

I really do wonder why they won't release her stuff... it boggles my mind so much... back in November, she said they had already made stuff they had "already created a few pieces" together that they're "aching to release to the world".  I guess I kiiind of understand.  She said on Facebook a few months ago that she wanted to give herself a few months to relax after being under the pressure of a major label for 8 years.  Bah.  6 months though?  How many glow-in-the-dark bubble baths, smudge sticks, & breathwork sessions will it take to get you back into a creative mindset      

On the bright side, she did release a picture of her in the studio with the caption "True Love", song about true love maybe?  Perhaps even a song called "True Love"?  And what will happen to that song she kept taking pictures of in Logic & captioning with "I only make kawaii vocals <3"???  Also... for anyone wondering who W&W was after hearing about her collaboration with them (I had never heard of them), listen to "W&W - Thunder".  Trying desperately to imagine Kerli's voice over an instrumental like that    

Also... I keep editing this post to add more things, but... I wonder if the album will involve unicorns somehow. It seems like she's always wearing unicorn leggings, or a unicorn onesie, or a unicorn hoodie, or even a unicorn horn... she did a photoshoot called "Hunicorn Dreams".

But then again IDJ was a hip-hop label and Kerli didn't make hip-hop music. I really hope that just because she's signed to Ultra that she won't ONLY do dance/electronic. She did say the next album would be a bit more "rock" (but that was a while ago so who knows). But I have a feeling you're right, and it probably will be mostly electronic. If it's anything like Utopia again I might be a bit disappointed (not that I didn't like Utopia, but it just wasn't as meaningful to me as her more alternative stuff). I'd love for the album to have songs with the same vibe as "Immortal".

I have a feeling I could not be a fan much longer.( Mean a huge fan anymore) If her next album's are just going to be dance/electronic. I shall be very disappointed myself. I do love pop music. I just don't enjoy Kerli's dance/electronic music style. I didn't care for Utopia EP myself, I don't listen to it anymore. I wish she do more music like from Love is dead era. I did like glow in the dark. something about about you. stardust. The lucky ones and ZG, Army of love isn't really my cup of tea. I mean they grew on me. Just don't listen to them often.

I guess all that the Love Is Dead fans can do is hope more old demos get leaked... or you'll have to fly out to Estonia and raid Kerli's mom's basement  I wonder if Kerli can still perform old songs live or if she lost the rights to perform them... it would suck sooo bad if she couldn't perform any of her songs from like 2006-2013... on the bright side, assuming that's true, we know we'll get new songs when she performs next.

And yup... it's been over a year since an official release (Utopia EP), but besides that, the most recent thing we have is Stardust which wasn't even a single or anything, just a gift... not that I'm complaining  Really though, even Gaga only took a 6-month break before making a comeback and that was after she broke her hip & physically couldn't perform...

I never thought of that really. If she can't then that really sucks. Because of I love that music a lot more then the new ones. I don't really think much now that the music will really be the same like that anymore. I guess we shall just wait and see.   Things change and nothing really can be the same. Even music.   I liked stardust when It came out. Now I'm kind of getting bored of it. LOL.....

Yeah, I think both Kerli and the label are still making money off of sales. Not sure though, I need to do more research on this record label business.

She can perform her songs (the EMA performance for example) and her music is still up on iTunes, but I think she doesn't gain money from Utopia and Love Is Dead sales, because all profit goes to Island.

What on earth is she doing with AFSHeeN??? She's been with him in the studio countless times since June... is her entire album being mastered by him or something?

This is for sure taking a very long time.

tbh by the time we hear it, it will already be over a year old. I'd rather hear new songs that are similar to it... so many missed opportunities...

I didn't really think she would return to that sound, to be honest. But she did say that the electronic vibes wouldn't be dance. Maybe this means something with more of a trance vibe.

That's what I'm afraid of too. I'm not a big fan of trance. But if by electronic she means similar to Björk or Ellie Goulding then I'm fine with that. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I feel like she's releasing something soon... idk what it is, I just have this feeling like she's got a single planned for the very near future. I REALLY hope we get something before summer starts, I want an anthem to enter the summer with like I had when I found Zero Gravity   

Well she did say in Estonian interviews that she already had a single picked out. But that's about all she said :/ I really hope we get something by summer too.

That makes me sad that she isn't doing music like the Love is dead ERA.  I don't Really like the direction her music is turning to. I mean yeah if it's like Ellie Goulding then awesome. I feel like she lots her magical touch in her music.

Honestly, I've got no interest in her music anymore. For a long time already, actually. Just wanted to stick to that fan forum here because of you guys.

Same with me. I don't like her new sound either. But I found another singer that I'm just more into. Never thought I would stop liking her stuff. Well still a fan of her old stuff.

I don't mind some of the new stuff, but a lot of it is sounding like radio fodder. I like electronic though (apparently one of the very few here who do) and I would be okay with her sounding evolving into some magical sounding stuff, like the way Passion Pit's music sounds in Sleepyhead.

That's cool. I found this Swedish singer. Ace Wilder. Hr music reminds me of old Kerli.

Yes, Passion Pit has awesome sound. That's the direction I would want Kerli to go in if she's only going to do electronic now. What I wouldn't want is club/rave music or heavy trance with mumbled lyrics.

Guess we need to wait and see
