I suppose I have a boyfriend, but a better word would be soulmate The way we met was really awkward (so awkward I'm not going to go into it), but we got together after a month away from each other. I finally found a man who knows how to treat a woman, unlike the several crushes I hopelessly chased before xD

I had rejected quite a few people, and I think guys gave up trying though. Which just makes me self-concious about finding a boyfriend now.

Sometimes I really really REALLY want to have some one, but when I think of it, I'm just not ready to be with some one for so long.
Besides, I want it to be someone special, I am not planning to walk around with anyone. I want someone, I want to feel a connection with that person, I want it to be (first of all) FRIENDSHIP and only then love. personally, if I would have to choose between having a simple boyfriend (just a random guy) and friends (who I really love), I would probably choose friends.
because as my teacher once said "if you are planning to marry someone, that person has to be first of all your friend, only then your lover because when you will be old, you won't care about "making love" as much as you will care about having a friend"

Sometimes I really really REALLY want to have some one, but when I think of it, I'm just not ready to be with some one for so long.

I think I'm too young, at 13 I don't think I should be dating yet. Usually people just do that for popularity reasons then the actual love itself. I rather have friendship first too, and how I see it with the over kids my age it gets awkward and you don't really see the love :/ and some people think I'm not remotely interested in guys at all, my mum had a conversation with me asking if I was just picky or not interested in guys. Really? Come back with that question when I had the experience first, and that I am afraid to what my parents think of a boyfriend. So yeah I'm going to wait.

i think the right thing to do is - not to FIND yourself a boyfriend, but to WAIT until one finds you.

i never wanted one as well because i thought im an independent woman (lol) and i dont need someone to rely on. and then boom!! i had my firs boyfriend when i was 17 and im still together with him. i remember when i was 13 like all of my friends had boyfriends and it just wasn't my thing. i was happy educating myself rather than going out with guys.

^ Mimi your %100 correct on that, I like to put my education first before I get into relationships. Too much responability for someone as young as me and it wont last very long, 17 seems a perfect time to start dating I would think though.

And thank god for little me, always putting my education first and It made me a brighter and wiser person I am now.

^That's true. It's amazing how much you grow up and learn about life between being 15 and 17. I became a different person in that time, in a way. I knew what I wanted for myself by the time I was 17, and I had stopped searching for someone, because I realised all it had brought me was heartache. It was then that my current boyfriend found me, and now I have the best of both worlds: I'm on the right track for the career I want, and I have someone I'm completely happy with and who supports and appreciates me as I am.

Basically, don't waste time pampering someone's ego by chasing them when they don't care about you. Think only about what you want and what will make you happy and successful in life. Selfishness, in the right sense, is a good thing

I've never dated because most guys my age are immature and don't respect women. I'm also attracted to older men (like in their 20's) and I think I might as well wait until I am older to find a truly great man who knows how to treat a woman. I'm not desperately seeking for a man though, and I am happy on my own. I know the right person will find me someday.

Ooft, I know, most 17/18 year old boys behave like peacocks; they think they're God's gift to women and they are too proud to care about other people's feelings. I'm lucky to have found someone my age who respects women as being "beautiful people and not just something to f*ck", as he said himself xD
