As much as I am hungry for new Kerli music, I'm not gonna raise my hopes up. I'm kinda tired of hearing news of a release and then get delayed.

well she said the label is finally behind her and stuff.Then she goes hopefuly it will be out..

Also don't forget someone from her label had confirmed it aswell so I don't think they would say anything unless it was 100% certain

It's really strange. This is the first time her label has announced anything, but Kerli herself seemed very suspicious about it all, like ''If they dont release it in a year, I'll leak it''. Maybe she herself lost a bit of hope too lol?

Yeah maybe that was one of the factors why they decided to confirm the release dates. They must realise that this could be their last chance and can't push it back anymore. Fans aren't going to wait any longer and even Kerli is fed up now to the point where she will leak it if they don't follow through. I just hope her label steps up and properly supports her from now on and allow her albums to come out sooner.

I think IDJ is shafting Kerli. They aren't promoting her while promoting every POS rap and hip hop group they have. No, I'm not racist. I just think if you sign someone to a contract, you do your best to get the music out. It's like LA Reid signed her to keep someone else from doing it.

But isn't IDJ in first line more a hip hop label?
I think that's why they support the Rap and hip hop groups more than her.

Even if they are more a hip pop label it still isn't an excuse for them to promote Kerli poorly. They have her on their label so they should be promoting her as much as an other artist they have signed. Though after someone from her label confirming the new single and album I hope they are considering changing their ways and promote Kerli better

That's a pretty intelligent statement! It is very interesting what you've said! Yes, I thought about that too. Maybe they signed her, knowing that she has talent TO KEEP HER AWAY from other profitable artists they have, to don't compete against each other. I think there's room for everyone, but what if not everybody thinks the same? After all, they have one Rihanna and one Kanye and one Jay Z. What if they have to keep their places secured, so they don't lose the momentum of other artists they have? What if they invest only in what they know it will generate sales, and not in something risky?
I know that Lil Wayne's album was pushed back because Jay Z had his coming out.
I'm just trying to figure things out.

The problem I see is that Kerli could make money for them. She has a pretty big, and rapidly-growing fanbase, that is arguably one of the most supportive (or crazy) fanbases there is right now. Delaying it so much is starting to ruin that fanbase, and slow down more people from coming in. If they want money, I don't see why they think waiting SO long will be the most profitable. I mean, Kerli probably writes enough for her to have released at least 2 good albums during this time. I understand they want it to be perfect, but I just don't see why they're making this decision from a business standpoint.

btw in my opinion it's amazing to see she has already over 250'000 likes on facebook, so she has massive fans. For example, the singer Melanie Fiona has 'only' 20'000 more but Melanie had already two successful albums (one Top10 in USA, the other over 300'000 copies sold in the US) and won a Grammy...

Yah, I have a feeling that they saw her as a threat to their artists so they signed her and kept her shushed up. I mean, look how much of a fan base she's gotten with next to no support from her label; imagine how big she would have been if they actually publicized her!

Its not like Island never publicized her.. Walking on Air got huge promotion and they got a lot of DJs to work on Army of Love, getting it to 1#. They get her to perform at a lot of places. the only issue I have with her label is that they wont let her do what she wants (she wanted to leave the label but they wouldnt let her) but pretty much all labels do that because there are special contracts signed by the artists

Yeah thats pretty much it, they can't really leave the label until they have fulfilled their side of the contract. I guess the only time anyone could leave is if they do really bad or bought themselves out. As Kerli is becoming a huge artist I can see why they won't want to let her go so easily

But why do we always hear these announcements from some random source on the internet and not Kerli? She was so desperate to keep Zero Gravity a secret last time too, to the point when people asked, she would say "No, it's not the new single." Does she not want promotion or something? xD

btw why do they write it's the second official single? I thought ZG wasn't the first one?

and i think it's a good move that the song is still unknown. ZG was already a little bit old (for the fans)...

Zero Graviity wasn't single... she said about it in one interview..

and i'm sure kerli will announce it within the next few days, maybe even today! there might be a promotion page on facebook just like ZG. and we might get the song earlier than that, Kerli released ZG on soundcloud 3 days before itunes did i wonder what the single cover looks like

I know it wasn't the first single, I was merely referencing how she seems to keep everything so under wraps, to the point of denying something that everyone already knew (I mean, she was playing that song EVERYWHERE, we were going to put 2+2 together at some point). It seems a bit counter productive to me.

I hope Lucky Ones gets better promo treatment than ZG, the facebook app thing was okay, but for the first official single she needs so much more hype.

If you think about, Kerli has played Can't Control The Kids many many times, but she NEVER made and announcement about it, or even acknowledged it. The only time she did was last week when someone asked what the title was, and she put "cant control the kids"
she really likes to keep things under wraps.

Which is nice in a way, wanting things to be a surprise. But at the same time, she's promoting her new album! After all this time, she needs the attention and the excitement that comes from knowing there is new stuff finally coming on a set date.

We naturally get excited because we're fans and we follow everything she does, but I wonder how many people who aren't fans yet even know she's coming... She needs to get her name out there fast, we've only got 16 days!

I think this time she wants to keep it under wraps until she officially releases it. Like with Zero Gravity she released the demo early then when she released the proper version, people lost interest quickly. Also the one thing that annoyed me about the zero gravity app was that they were controlling it. Didn't seem fair that people were constantly sharing and the meter would stay in the same position until they felt like revealing something new.

I still think it's silly. Wanting to have a clean launch is fine and good, but there simply wont be a launch if only the dedicated fans know about it. I hope she has some hardcore radio and hopefully tv promo lined up. She doesn't have to play the full song and spoil the surprise like ZG, but a snippet along with an interview detailing the song's story definitely wouldn't hurt.

on fb, she wrote "I am usually always reading the wall but im kinda taking a mini break right now before starting to shoot the single cover etc for my next single" 12 hours ago

so if the single will be released in two weeks, i think we will see the cover in a week plus the video will released maybe on the same date like the song gets it's release. That would be fine IMO

Wow, she's cutting it a bit fine if she's only just shooting the single cover now. The video is going to take a lot longer if she's going to be making costumes and set pieces, then the actual filming and editing of course. I doubt we'll get the video until a least a week and a bit after the single release, if we're lucky.
