Re: Iridescent_Revival_<3 (songs)
I am having such a freaking bipolar week/month/year/life (?)
Lost Cause
Do you remember
When the spiral
Got so dizzy
And fell over?
Do you remember
When the triangle
Picked him up
And told him try again?
Like a spider
Losing its home
Do you remember?
And maybe I’m just another lost cause
But we’ll never know until we try
And maybe the wall was closer than I thought
Or maybe it’s just a trick played on the eyes
But we’ll never know until we try
Do you remember
When the lion
Got a bruise
And cried doe tears?
Do you remember
When the stag
Picked him up
And told him to try again?
Like a snail
Running a race
Do you remember?
And maybe I’m just another lost cause
But we’ll never know until we try
And maybe the wall was closer than I thought
Or maybe it’s just a trick played on the eyes
But we’ll never know until we try
My body’s telling me to give up
But my heart is saying to get up
We’ll never reach the pot of gold
If we just ignore the brightest rainbow
And maybe I’m just another lost cause
But we’ll never know until we try
And maybe the wall was closer than I thought
Or maybe it’s just a trick played on the eyes
But we’ll never know until we try

Re: Iridescent_Revival_<3 (songs)
Well I've been wanting to do this one for a long time anyway. And I already have everything I need to do it. It just makes it more special and important to me knowing that I'll be doing it for one of my closest moonsiblings
Re: Iridescent_Revival_<3 (songs)
Your latest song reminds me of lyrics Imogen Heap might write. I love it so much. It speaks to one part of me that always wants to follow the rainbow, and the other that tends to lose faith and fall short. I feel really inspired now

Wishes
Suppose we saw the same moon
Suppose she sent wishes our way
Could we possibly make them come true?
Or would it all go to waste?
I choose my destiny
I don’t rely on crystal balls
They rely on me
We are eyelashes, gone with the wind
We are shooting stars that swirl and spin
We are dreamy coins, immortal gold
We are melted candles, symbol of hope
And oh the sweet burden of a prayer
Will nestle inside our hearts
With map in hand and wishes in a bag
True fulfilment is up to us
Suppose our dreams were people
Suppose they had voices clear
Would they have anything productive to say?
Or would they just distract us from our fears?
I choose my destiny
I don’t rely on dandelions
They rely on me
We are eyelashes, gone with the wind
We are shooting stars that swirl and twirl and spin
We are dreamy coins of immortal gold
We are melted candles, symbols of hope
And oh the sweet burden of a prayer
Will nestle inside our hearts
With map in hand and wishes in a bag
True fulfilment is up to us
I believe in a Muse
Who believes I can do
Whatever I put my mind to
She believes in me
And believes I can be
The person I am in my dreams
I’m an eyelash, gone with the wind
I’m a shooting star that swirls and spins
I’m a dreamy coin of immortal gold
I’m a melted candle, and symbol of hope
And oh the sweet burden of a prayer
Will nestle inside of my heart
With map in hand and wishes in a bag
My inner self is only the start
Suppose we saw the same moon
Suppose she sent wishes our way
Could we possibly make them come true?

I choose my destiny

Re: Iridescent_Revival_<3 (songs)
I have some news.
About a month ago, I entered "Lost Cause" into a song competition. This competition was to choose about 6 songs to put onto a CD which will be sold to raise money for Christchurch. Hollie and another friend of ours also entered a few songs. In the end, 7 songs were chosen and we all made it so now I have to learn my song properly on the piano because I keep changing it every time I play it but... yeah. I just thought I would share that with my beloved marshmallows I.L.U.
OH and thank you guys sooo much for supporting me

Caroline, I am so proud of you. I knew you had the talent to get recognised for your songs. You really deserve this
Ah, and about your latest song...when I auditioned to get into Cantamus Girls Choir at 9 years of age, I sang a song called Wishes I won first prize in a music festival with the same song when I was 8. So your song spoke to me immediately. It's a beautiful, dreamy song, and full of truth, as always ^^ Also, jeez, I can't believe I last sang that song 9 years ago

Pandora
I search for my box of blessings
So that I can write numbers on them
That way, they can’t escape me
For they’ll all be identified as mine
But all I can find is Pandora
And she whispers that I shouldn’t fear failure
For failure is simply liberation
You can’t set fire to a city that you have already burned to embers
So instead, collect the embers and mix them with scented oils
And then use this concoction to anoint the next city you come across
So that the souls you had once silenced may now sing through the hearts of strangers
When one door closes, there are no windows to open
Instead, you’ll discover a secret passage behind a bookcase
And that is when you’ll thank Pandora for hiding the keys
I search for my box of blessings
So that I can write numbers on them
That way, they can’t escape me
For they’ll all be identified as mine

Re: Iridescent_Revival_<3 (songs)
Well. It's been almost a year. And I suddenly finally felt the urge to write in my Anthropology lecture today.
Rubber band
I keep itching at my skin
Using a knife to remove the scales
But they keep growing back again
This inner darkness has always prevailed
And I’m so sorry for ever existing
Not even like I had a say
But if I did, I promise I would have declined
Knowing I’d turn out this way
I’m not exactly sure why
I should be trapped inside
A single rubber band
And yet, here I am
I’m not exactly sure why
I can’t handle such an easy life
Wishing it would just end
And yet, here I am
I find it easy to write my mind
But to speak out and ask for help
I can’t voice it, as much as I fucking try
I become mute and empty inside
And I’m so sorry for liking my scars
Much more than the most beautiful song
Or poem or tattoo or any other form of art
For they always appear right where they belong
I’m not exactly sure why
I should be trapped inside
A single rubber band
And yet, here I am
I’m not exactly sure why
I can’t handle such an easy life
Wishing it would just end
And yet, here I am

You put so much feeling and emotion into all your words. I can almost feel exactly what they are saying to the point where if you talk about pain I almost feel it. I love the way you write. If there was a book of just all these, I'd buy it without thinking twice.

Re: Iridescent_Revival_<3 (songs)
Man, these are all actually quite embarrassing now. I haven't had any actual creativity since high school, it seems. I miss being so immersed in my mind that I saw these songs and poems as a good part of me :/
