What happened to that video that she was talking about few months ago, that it will be fantasy and awesome, if you remember?
Re: Kerli on Facebook/Twitter
I can't remember, sorry... Did she say which song the video was going to be for? She could still do it, but just not for CCtK or LMoLM...

Re: Kerli on Facebook/Twitter
Her plans do change a lot O.o Damn. The videomaking could've been pushed back because of the crap she's had with the label this year. Maybe?
I'm (pretty) sure there will be a music video, just not for either of these two songs :/Krissy wrote:So we get no music video?Wow

Re: Kerli on Facebook/Twitter
I was traveling last week and had to be away from my studio. Felt really confused and out of place about life, cried tons, had conversations with God and my friends about what is going on with me..was praying for light and guidance. Starting to realize it was just because I wasn't creating. The only time I feel truly alive is when I make music...I would rather die than not be able to. So blessed to be able to do this for a living. All day, err day. Got so many new goodies in the works for my Moon Babies and a very exciting announcement coming soon.
(And yeah, check out my fresh "yolo" wall art, got it from ross for $5:)

Hmm, I'm hoping it's something involving her lack of label. Maybe she's finally switched out or will release her music herself?

Re: Kerli on Facebook/Twitter
I hope this announcement is relevant to the second album/the next EP/ her label/etc. If not I might be a little disappointed.
And I still wanna know what's going to happen to the leaked Utopia songs that weren't on the EP, especially the one that didn't leak.

Re: Kerli on Facebook/Twitter

Re: Kerli on Facebook/Twitter
I don't think Kerli being on TiDy's label is such a good idea.. I mean yeah, they are best friends and such, BUT TiDy probably doesn't have a lot of money to support Kerli's releases. TiDy is a DJ so he doesn't need a lot of cash to support his own releases. Furthermore, this could ruin their relationship in the long end. I'm still hoping Kerli finds home at some smaller indie label that is capable of releasing her albums physically and such while respecting her as an artist and giving her creative freedom

Re: Kerli on Facebook/Twitter
She keeps mentioning in comments that she's working on a lot more music. I would love to find out more about that. Seems that things have gotta be looking up for her. She's not listed on her label's website anymore, she's got some high-quality merch, and she's really been posting a ton on her blog. This announcement could be about anything!

"I see so many Moon Babies asking about the new music...So I thought I'd respond:
It was last spring when I started feeling like I had spent too much time around too many people who were trying to make me shave off everything that didn't fit in their generic pop star box. I was so young and naive when I got into the business at 15 years old and looked up to a lot of people throughout my career who, I realize now, have no clue what is going on.
So yeah...There was a time last year where something turned around in me and I went like..."wait, if no one actually has the answers or guarantees then why am I letting some old suit make the final decision...why am I basing my feelings about my career on someone elses opinion of me? And most importantly, why the hell am I not doing the sickest, edgiest shit I can think of? Something that I'd wanna buy." I needed to take my power back.
I had gotten so jaded and unadventurous, waiting for releases that never happened, playing someone elses game. I couldn't even listen to Bjork or other amazing artists cause they reminded me of everything that I couldn't do, stuck on a major label.
I had fucking lost myself completely.
This is not a complainy kind of letter cause I understand I've been lucky to live a dream of a lot of people + in the process of this, learned to write and vocal produce, do videos, costumes, everything that needed to be done.
I also absolutely can't underestimate the amazing human beings that I have crossed paths with during this time...
but as I said,
I had fucking lost myself completely. Technically I was better than ever but I was missing the reason why.
So what I did was lock myself into my studio, trying to tap back into that innocence of ideas, adventure, quirky shit and magic. I've been on THAT vibe for almost 9 months now and there's probably like 5 songs i got that I think could be the next single with Ultra (yeah, I finally changed labels) but I'm digging through some deep stuff right now so I wanna give myself time to incubate, to find myself again.
I've been coming up with a bunch stuff that touches me deeply...not escaping from the dark side anymore..letting it all in...not judging anything I do.
To me, I think it's some of my best material yet but music is a vibration and you might hate it..or love it...who knows. All I can do is do my best.
....Real Talk....
And now the most important part of this rant:
I wanna thank you, my beautiful Moon Children, for all the love and support that you guys have given me over the years. It's been a real blessing and have kept me going more than you will ever know.
Can't wait to share the new magick. It's birthing as we speak.

I'm glad Kerli finally cleared this up. I think a lot of fans were really confused about what was going on with her and idj, and what direction she was trying to take her music.
I'm happy/ excited that she has more creative freedom and can be herself now.

I like pop music too, but I like when Kerli does alternative pop better. Like how LID was. I wanna hear more songs like WOA and Immortal. Also I loved how cool Nature Boy sounded. I hope she does more stuff like that.

"A lot of Moon Babies seem to keep wondering about the new music so I'll give u guys another update♥
You know I just got out of a loooong major label relationship and even though being on a major comes with it's own perks and it's been a wild ride, it also comes with a lot of artistic restrictions, waiting around for releases that never happen and a whole lot of unnecessary stuff that has nothing to do with the music itself.
I freshly signed with Ultra and they are excited to release more "left" stuff so what I'm doing these days is sitting around in the BubbleGoth HQ, digging through the deepest corners of my soul, trying to remember who I was before I got jaded about the game of it all. I don't want the big time if it comes at a cost of having to leave behind words I don't really believe in for my grand children to listen to. I'm tired of the same old dribble on the radio and I wanna get as far as possible from that "must write a hit" and chart position mindset that massive corporations and media promote every day. It's disempowering people and creating an illusion of competition and separation when in all reality, we are all just cells in the same body and this world could and should be heaven for all living things - celebrating ourselves and others.
Not that I'm gonna stop writing hooks, I'm just trying to write the kind of hooks that I haven't heard before.
At this point I am working as a pop songwriter and a blogger every day, so I wouldn't have to "make it work" as an artist to pay my rent. This new stuff I'm making is my precious baby that I wanna keep true and honest to the core without compromising anything.
Don't get me wrong, I am super proud of Utopia but I am all about new and next. It breaks my heart that dance music wasn't even on the radio when we made zero gravity so instead of being a pioneer, the label waited around for over a year and got enough balls to release it only after shit like that was already all over the place. The same with "walking on air". There was no theatrics in pop music when that song came out. There was no Lady Gaga (who I think is a brilliant artist btw so don't trip).
I don't know where this current mindset is gonna take me but honestly, I don't even care these days. I just wanna create something I am proud of and if the world is into it too then that's great.
I have tons of new stuff ready and some VERY very exciting collaborations coming out starting this spring but I wanna give myself at least a few months now to explore and play around....I've been many different characters and colors so I am excited to dig real deep and see who it is that I will find this time around.
I wanna thank all you beautiful Moon Children for sticking around and supporting my journey. I hate to call you "fans" cause I hate the idea of separation and being looked up to/down upon....but you guys are the best "fans" in the world. I am so inspired by your insightful comments to my posts and the letters you send. I couldn't believe the comments the other day when I posted about not wanting to take shit anymore. Re: Kerli on Facebook/Twitter
So awesome Kerli is doing these honest blog posts. It clears up a lot. I remember back when she was making songs like AOL and said that her new sound was brand new like nothing out there yet. And then when we finally heard it everyone was like, "um...stuff like this is already popular on the radio." Too bad we didn't know before that her label had held her music back until the radios were saturated with dance music. They made her seem like she was just following the trend. That makes me so mad, IDJ missed SO many opportunities with Kerli.
