FREE ROAMING POETRY

NOTE: If you don't like depressing poetry, then this is probably not the place for you. I only preface this because most of, if not all of my poetry is sad or dark.

As a producer, I've thought of maybe giving characters to these poems and having them read, especially some of the longer ones, but I'm not sure how many people would actually be interested in that sort of thing.

I'll post my earlier stuff first. I plan to give a description about the poem at the end of every one of them. After I get through all my old ones, I'll start dating them as well. Hopefully becoming a Moon Child will kick start my poetry gene again.

STYLE: Most of the time, my style tends to be free styled poetry, but I had a really big haiku craze for a while so there's a lot of poetry in that style of writing as well. There might be a few more structured poems that were written during my school years, but I mostly just write what comes to my head.

Poem List as of August 23, 2011:
Darkened Wolves (Post 2)
Downfalls (Post 3)
Fate (Post 4)
I am (Post 5)
Land of the Lost (Post 6)
Life's Aches (Post 7)
Little One (Post Cool
Lost Hope (Post 9)
Love (Post 10)
Never Allowed (Post 11)
No More Tears (Post 12)
Ridley's Castle (Post 13)
Start Over (Post 14)
The Wolf and The Fox (Post 15)
Trees of Daylight (Post 16)

Darkened Wolves

You see these wolves
Within the dark
You fear them
You see them within the trees
Which makes them darkened even further
Are you afraid?
You should be
You cannot see them
For they move with night
Have you seen them?
You should have
Look past the light into the deep darkness
You’ll see them
Watch and see these darkened wolves

About this poem: This is one of those things I've seen every since I was a child. Shadows and things moving within the darkness. Sometimes they take the form of wolves and such these creatures were formed within my mind. I hope maybe one day to get the inspiration to write a story for them.

Downfalls

Love is bliss, yet such a bitch
Life is great, ‘till Death brings its weight
Happiness is a wonder then Sadness steals its thunder
Hope is sweet but Despair’s got it beat
Patience is a virtue and Anger can still hurt you
Everything has a downfall so screw it and live,
And take the bad things all on a whim.

About this poem: This is about the time I was getting over one of my ex-boyfriends and was freeing myself from the pain of that and the relationship I'd just entered.

Fate

Fate has its bones to pick with me
I have not defied it
But have seen it
No one is supposed to see
Their own fate
Or the fate of others

Fate…
I watch and wait
For what is to come
Fate is here
So I am gone

About this Poem: This was a dream that I had. It was about a winged girl, maybe not necessarily an angel, but I don't know for sure. Her life was always about moving and being on the run because she could see everything and had knowledge about it all. Her mind was a very interesting one to be a part of even though it was for a short time. Knowing that you could not interfere even if you wanted to.

I Am

I am different than many but misunderstood
I wonder why society is the way it is
I hear voices whisper on the wind
I see figures in the dark, some comforting, some not
I want to not have to hide
I am different than many but misunderstood

I pretend that people in the world can be trusted
I feel my soul ripped and torn apart by demons
I touch others hearts and open their eyes to new things
I worry that there are traitors amongst me
I cry from the pain that liars bring
I am different than many but misunderstood

I understand I cannot let everyone see what I see
I say I can tell anyone even though I get hurt in the end
I dream that one day everyone will get along
I try to help those who ask
I hope that people will soon see
I am different than many but misunderstood

About this Poem: This was something written back in high school. I had a lot of misunderstandings back then with seeing things others didn't and was sent to the councilors several times for my "problem". This poem was written from those feelings and fears.

Land of the Lost

I am lost in this eternal realm
Never to be seen again
And in this land of the lost
I am alone

No one sees
Yet they all see
No one hears
Yet they all hear

I see
But they do not
I hear
But they do not

However the ones
I’ve always feared have found me
The ones from long ago
The ones of my corner

About this Poem: This was a nightmare I had about the shadows cornering me despite me running for help to several people I knew. Sadly, this one has come true more times than I can count with different things being the shadows. Now a days, I have people who tend to help me in that aspect.

Life’s Aches

My heart is failing
Under all the stress of you
Behind me you do speak

You can’t understand
All that is going through me
You cannot listen

I try to find home
You won’t get out of my way
You are holding me back

Love is a waiting
I wish I could find it here
And not far away

I have been stranded
All alone out in this world
And how I HATE IT!

About this Poem: Because I can see things, I was never comfortable because I didn't have many people to talk to. I didn't feel at home in my own skin. I've come to terms with the feelings in this poem now.

Little One

Little one little one
Why are you crying?
I cannot confess why you are dying

Little one my dear little one
Why can’t I find you?
Alone and fear
I am without you

Seeking and watching
Always for you
Where can you be my little dear?

Little one little one
I see your father in the woods
And what is this
He doth killed you
My dear little one

As your father lay burying you
He warned that if I should
Tell he’d kill me too

I failed as a mother
And now I say
I’m sorry dear little one
Now I must pray

About this Poem: Once the spirit of a child visited me, crying. He hugged me and well this is what I saw.

Lost Hope

Passing through my heart
I find hope disappearing
In depths of despair

My pack has left me
The leader has abandoned
We are the replaced

Finding the new ones
You have left me all alone
Without me seeing

I hear calling wind
It gives me the great warning
I lose someone dear

Falling aimlessly
My hope has left me alone
I am wandering

About this Poem: This is based after a spiritual teacher I once had. She abandoned me because she didn't agree with what I thought. She then gained a small gathering of followers and well this is a log of kind of how it happened.

Love

What is this strange feelings?
Is it sudden or slow?
Can we fight it?
No.
We may try, but as a Phantom once told me,
No one may choose where they will love
Have you ever seen such a thing?
Maybe in a friend?
A family member?
Or perhaps even yourself?
However, love comes in many forms.
Which have you seen?
Which have you come to know yourself?
And which do you still seek?

About this Poem: Wrote this after I fell in love with a man, who had a voice like the Phantom from Phantom of the Opera.

Never Allowed

Trapped by pain and sorrow
Knowing now what I should do
To solve the problem with my heart

I am tormented
Tormented from my love
A torment of the greatest kind

To see him with another
Would break me apart
But it is a necessary pain

It is hard to admit the truth
To find out that one from long past was right
Darkness and light can never be together

Heart of ice
Heart of human
Who can say that we are true?

I am dark
He is light
Nevermore are we ever true

Night am I
Day is he
Always stuck in bittersweet dreams

Ever so wanting am I of him
Whilst he sleeps before me
Now in more pain than I could ever understand

The bed I sat before moments ago
Held his body in the most sincerest fashion
Almost like a grave

These claws on my hands
Unknowingly dealt the blow to him
Oh, how I hate deception

My enemy caused this blow
To this once young child I knew
But now he’s grown and loves me

This precious man let his boyhood fade in the darkness
So that he could be with me
For all eternity

But now it is I who should fade
Fade into everlasting sleep
So that he may be safe from me

So I can waste away in bittersweet dreams
With sleep not my ally
Nor my enemy

Heart of ice
Heart of human
Whoever thought that we could be true?

I am dark
He is light
Cursed nevermore to be true

Love cannot find us
All it can do is hate us
And cause us never to be true

Obsession
I was there once
Only to find myself a tool

True love
Now that was you
I knew that even with my heart of ice

I tried to force my heart to warm to you
But it would never allow it
For I am darkness

And forevermore will I remain…

No light
No life
No happiness

If I am of ice
Why do I feel so much pain?
I feel the cold beating against me

This harsh aura
Is this how asphalt feels
So warm and rough

Heart of ice
Heart of human
Who is to say that we are true?

I am dark
He is light
Nevermore wilst we be true

Fly away from me dear man of light
Go to someone who will care for you
For I cannot

Take care of him
Fight hard for him dear lady that finds him
Love him as I never could

Love him
As a heart of ice could not
Or just would not…

I do care for him deeply
As a protector should
But I cannot give him the love he so desires of me

Heart of ice
Heart of human
Can we be true?

I am dark
He is light
God, save me from this pain

I feel it again
Such a harsh aura
Is it Death coming for him?

I see something in the distance
It is a man on a pale horse
He is beautiful

He looks at me and speaks
He calls my name
Angelus Katrine

I walk slowly towards him
Cautiously
As he calls me once again

“You asked for a savior
I am here
So come to me angel of darkness”

I step forward
“You call me an angel of darkness
I think you to be Death”

“Still you step forward?”
He inquired
Seeming amused by my comment

“I do wish for Death
Please take me from my pain”
I beg to him

“As I said
You called for a savior
And here I am”

I looked at the pale horse
“You can free me
For forever?”

“Forever”
he said to me as he took my hand
The chains came as I knew they should

I had not atoned for the sins in my life
This I knew
I was hell bound

If he had joined me
He would have been hell bound too
This is why I could not be true

About this Poem: Once upon a time, there was a religious man and a woman with a dark gift. This is what she hoped happened to her so she could keep him from being hurt by herself or the prejudice of others.

No More Tears

No more tears left for you
They’ve dried up and left me longing
Longing for one final kiss
Longing for a sense of closure in my heart
Longing for the sound of your voice
Longing for your sweet whispers in my ear
Longing for one last endearment
No more tears left for mourning
They’ve fled and left me alone
I’ve ruined you
I’ve destroyed you
I’ve stolen your laughs
I’ve stolen your smiles
I’ve mauled those sweet arms that used to hold me
I’ve killed you
And made a husk that cares for… nothing

About this Poem: This is another one about an ex-boyfriend and how I felt my breaking up with him had destroyed him.

Ridley's Castle

A journey lies ahead of me
I enter a room...
Something seems familiar...
I wish I could remember what this place was
I know it...

I have been here before in this room, this castle
I see a stairway leading to a music room
A music room with someone who looks like me is trapped in crystal?

What is happening to me?
That door closes and behind me his voice whispering softly to me
Ridley? Your name is Ridley?
Serena? I'm not Serena.
What are you talking about?

Something is slipping away from my grasp
Help me! I'm falling from the window of that room.
The music room...

Time shifts to another day
The castle is burning and I see a face at the window
Is that dear Ridley?
Despite the guards, I rush up the stairs.
They want you dead, but why?
My head spins and my eyes open.

If find myself back out of the legend
In the library with only his voice saying,
“Today is just the beginning, I will avenge you, my Serena.”

About this Poem: Yet another dream. This one should be more self explanatory.

Start Over

Stare down at the pictures
And let the tears fall
The smiles have faded
The laughs are gone
Know that I have started over
To begin my love anew
So that I may be happy and well enough to create
New laughs
New smiles
New love

About this Poem: Along the same lines as Downfalls but much happier, even though these were merely dreams.

The Wolf and the Fox

The wolf prowls in the dark
The fox plays in the woods
The wolf remains alone
The fox loves his own
The wolf hunts to kill
The fox steals his food
The wolf is cold and harsh
The fox is warm and playful
The wolf is never hurt
The fox can’t help himself
That when he’s hurt
The wolf smirks
And dines on him forever

About this Poem: This is about the same person as No More Tears. This defines the transformation a little more with the fox being during our relationship and the wolf afterwards.

Trees of Daylight

The day is starting
The trees whispering the words
To all who can hear

For those whose hope fades
These trees will give you their strength
So the hope returns

For those lost in fear
These trees will fight back with you
So that fear is lost

Now to those of you
Who try to lose their anger
Trees will block its path

These trees of daylight
Will protect you from bad things
Leave your trust with them

About this Poem: This was written for an Uncle while in jail. I had hoped it would give him a little hope and persevere.
