Free

This is a poem that I wrote about my drunken father who has done his fair share in my emotional scarring. I wrote it on the day I finally told him that I didn't want to continue what he thought was a relationship. It is titled "Free"

Free

Scattered all across the floor
Lay broken dreams and many more
Promises you've never kept,
And lies that make you less adept
In my eyes and in my heart.


Today is when we'll finally part.
It feels so great to finally be free
From you an your hollow "I'm Sorry's"!
No more lies and no more shame!
No more guilt from playing your games!
Thank you lord for this glorious day,
When I finally learned to stay away.

GREATTTT ^_^ I'm so glad you finally stood up to him, that must have been really hard

It wass/: And I started talking to him again because he was doing really good. Like, he got a place to live, car, job, all that fun stuff. So I spent a week at his house (it was during the summer) and the last day I was there, he got drunker than fuck and started verbally abusing me. He basically told me that I am a worhtless, good-for-nothing, waste of space. But it went on from about 9 pm to 9 am, he WOULD NOT STOP. I ended up locking him out of the house at one point, too. I'm still seeing a therapist because of him /: And people wonder why I have no self esteem...

You can definitely feel the emotion
