Re: Make Up
Yeah, I have some of the Sugarpill pressed powder shadow. It's good. it's expensive, but it does what it says it does and it is colors created by the owner. (some indie makeup brands are shady and repackage cheap stuff to rip customers off; always google a new brand, and there are tons of make-up review blogs, such as this one, which is one of my favorites). I'd give it a 5 or 6, depending on which color, but I haven't used the loose powder shadow or all the pressed colors yet.BrowniesBeffy wrote:Have anyone here tried Sugarpill? Do you like it? What do you think about it?
What grade will you give it 1(the worst) or 6(the best)?
What is actually drugstore brands? is it make up bought in a normal store, like the body shop, H&M or something?
Drugstore brands are more like Maybelline, Revlon, Cover Girl.

I'm thinking buying a new mascara. Can someone recommend a good mascara, that is not tested on animals and can be used on sensitive eyes?

Re: Make Up
Today I bought Rimmel's Exaggerate waterproof eye definer, black. You spin it and the color comes out, and spin to the other direction it goes back inside. It has a tiny sharpener on the other end! And a soft sponge thingy, maybe you can fade the color with it. I tried it on my hand, and it seems OK. You don't have to press much and it's very vivid and black. You can make pretty sharp lines with it. Then I tried to wash it off, it really is waterproof :D I still have a faint line on my hand even after scrubbing it a bit. Without soap, I mean.
It was pretty expensive, 6,50 € (8,89 USD). But I think it was worth it :)

Moonmarks would look pretty awesome :) I use silver and black all the time. I just spread silver on the whole upper eyelid and carefully dab the black on the outer corners, and try to keep it catlike. Blend the colors smoothly. Then I add eyeliner (be very careful with that part!) and mascara last.

I used to do that before. But since I start wearing lenses I've changed my mascara every 3 month.

Re: Make Up
just wondering, does anyone know of any tips on how to make your eyelashes longer/thicker?
I have sort of noticed that while I using waterproof mascara, I lost some lashes when removing it =X so, does anybody have any idea of ways to help them grow back or seem like they are there? XD

I know putting olive oil on your eye lid/lash area helps strengthen them. I think.

Re: Make Up
I've heard about that vaseline might help a bit.
It does exist some kind of products that helps, but I don't know the name of those products
Maybe you can change your mascara, to one that take care of your lashes while they look gorgeous.?

Re: Make Up
And if your lashes don't have the time to grow back, maybe you could consider fake lashes? I've never tried them myself (don't really need to :D), so I can't advise with how to put them on, but there are makeup tutorials on Youtube :)
Re: Make Up
When I was in Turkey I didn't use mascara for a few days, and my lashes got really thick and long. And then I came back to Norway again, and then I started wearing mascara everyday again.
I think you should take a break from mascara a week or two when it's holiday or maybe when it's school or work?

Re: Make Up
fake lashes scare me XD ...I wonder fi an eyelash curler would help much.
I actually put Vaseline on them last night and it got rid of more mascara that clung to my lashes and made them stick together...I am pretty sure I despise waterproof mascara now.

Re: Make Up
^^False eyelashes are fun! I like the huge, drag queen-esque ones (my regular lashes are too long for regular sized ones anyway) but I have difficulty putting them on, myself.
I think eyelash curlers are awesome, but not everyone agrees with me. Sometimes I curl my lashes and don't use mascara at all.
I just got this curler: http://www.eyeslipsface.com/elf/tools/eyelash_curlers/mechanical_eyelash_curler which costs $1USD, and it is better than the other one I have, which is some Revlon (i think?) one that cost at least $5. Some drugs stores sell e.l.f., but none by me so i had to buy it online.

I often buy my make up online because i'm bit too shy to buy it here (without friend atleast haha).

I've never bought make up online. I'm not allowed to. I'm going to buy some make up online before summer, but then I will not buy foundation, powder or concealer. What if I chose the wrong color?
I really want Barry M dazzle dust, maybe i'll ask dad if he can buy one for me

Re: Make Up
I like L.A. Colors. They have really bright and really pale colors. I also like Hot Topic make up cuz it's cheap and it doesn't look all crumbly on the eye.
I normally start with a skin color sparkly eyeshadow over my lid. Then I put dark blue eyeshadow from the corner on the outside of my lid to three-fourths of the way in. Then, from the corner of the inside, I go one half of the way out with a pale purple eyeshadow. Then I take a pale pink eyeshadow and put it over my entire lid. Then you get this really pretty fade-y look. Then I put on purple eyeliner under my waterline. Then I put on Hard Candy electric-blue mascara, and I'm done.
Also, I put the skin colored sparkly eyeshadow all over my cheeks and in the bags of my eye. So yeah.
I normally have that every day. Somethimes I use dark pink and dark purple instead of pastel.
It makes me look good, I think. I also use a dark pink lip gloss.
I'll change my pic later so you can see the make up.

ALSO they just came out with this super super nova new nailpolish that gives u an instant effect! ill put it on tomorrow and take a pic and show u!

I have wanted to try Barry M for a while, because it looks amazing and I've read some good things. Are the lipsticks as good at they look, in your opinion?
Aww. Well, sometimes you can get better deals online than in stores, though, so that's a positive? Also, i<3false lashes.Ene wrote:I just ordered some new make up. Going to try out new powder and liquid foundation, plus my first bronzer haha. I also got fake lashes for photoshoot

OH- since I know people here use Etsy and order makeup online and things, I want to post a link to something about an awful company I read the other day-- http://www.lipsticksandlightsabers.com/2011/02/please-go-directly-to-jail-part-1.html <--I started reading this girl's blog recently (mostly makeup reviews) but anyway, this company I'd never heard of, GlitterSniffer, sells soap dyes as eyeshadow. Knowingly. This blog entry reads like a research paper. And they don't care that it has badly infect people's eyes. There is proof of everything, including the company owner knowing what she's selling, so this isn't some random hearsay.
Apparently the etsy store was shut down, but they still sell from their own website and something called artfire, so I wanted to warn people.
Re: Make Up
yeah the lipsticks are well worth their price! and! they're not that expensive!
posting a pic soon

Re: Make Up
There is this norwegian make up website called coverbrands. They sell Barry M for like no money (60-150NOK is no money for make up, make up here costs alot of money, so it's cheap). And that site is having a sale, and I can't wait for when it's closer to summer. I've decided to buy ALOT of make up on the internet, like Sugarpill, Barry M and such.

Re: Make Up
my new SugarPill makeup!
I got "Stella," which is a really pretty and SPARKLY black. It is a lot of product aaand glitter was flying everywhere when I was applying it XD Make sure you put foundation or primer on your eyelids first because it will want to fall on your cheeks.
It goes on really dark and opaque :]
