Moonchild Project

Alright, I wasn't sure where to post this topic but I thought this one would be great since it would be a hand made thing.

Some time ago, somebody posted a pic that was made for Kerli on her birthday. And then we started discussing what to do for her next birthday. well.. i was sitting in my room today and i was looking at this little sketchbook i got for my art project, but never used it.. and i thought.. it would be so great if we could draw and paint and write and glue stuff in it and send it to kerli... and then i thought.. WHY NOT?



the size of the notebook is a5 (half of a4) and ive cut a bit of the front page and put glitter on the first page.. dont know why, but i did it lol

SO, my idea is: for all of us to send each other the book, so that all of us could write/draw/glue something in it..

what do you mean send? > for example, i write something in it, send it to Poetic, then Poetic does something in it and sends it to Claudia and so on.

my initial idea was that all of us could have one side of a page in the book - that would mean that 35 people can take part in the birthday project.. but we could also do half a page so that we could double the amount of people involved..
i dont know how we're gonna do it yet so i just want your ideas - do u think its a good idea? would you take the responsibility of sending it forward??

The only thing that we would need to make sure of, is that the book gets back to me at least by the beginning of february so that i could send it off to kerli.

PS if u like the idea, we have to start pretty much NOW so that everybody would have time to do something in it, because snail mail is fast but slower than just emailing..

I think that's AMAZING idea! I'm totally up for it.

omg that's kinda like what we do at school for people's birthdays we either make birthday boxes or birthday books. birthday boxes are pretty much just a shoe box that has been decorated and has random goodies inside it. birthday books are when a book gets passed around and everyone writes/draws on a page or more, congratulating you. they are seriously awesome and fun to make.

in other words... LET'S GO IT

and timewise, maybe if we organise it systematically so that it is sent to whoever lives closest to you etc, then it won't take as long?

my only concern: what if something happens in the post? like what if it gets lost or damaged?

Well just have to risk it.. and yeah we'll have to make a list as well and the order. so as soon as we get more responses here we can start making a list of people and where they live.

I LOVE the idea.

The only problem is that it would be hard to get 70 people. Unless we got Meko or Tyler to post it, but then we might get more. Although not all of them may be willing to give addresses for it.

no no, if we all get one side of a page, we'd only need 35 people. and im sure meko and tyler would participate since they're both good friends of mine

but thats the reason why i need all ur thoughts.. because if someone is not okay with giving out their address they need to say so, because then we cant consider them etc.. and i think if we do the 35 people version, it wont be that hard to fill the book up!

yes! for sure!!!! i didnt mean that we all write out our addresses for the world to see lol! just the person who sends u the book, will know ur address!

OMG! ( this is a fisrt, never used these 3 letters before...) I love snail mail! I am soo up for this! And yes, if 60-70 people gather together than we can make a half a page( if not, a whole page ). And you are right we need to see who lives nearer to who so it will take less time to arrive to the other person... It will be such a wonderful chain!
Or if this doesn't work.... me and the "digbyholics" did this for another artist: we did a scrapbook made of letters and we all sended them to the main person and she put them together. i might find the video...

thats another idea, but i think the idea of sending the book is SOOO much more personal! it will show kerli HOW united we are, and how much we trust each other!
As soon as we get more replies here we can make a list of people who want to participate, then make a chain - who sends who & ill start off and make my entry.

another reason why it would be so cool to send the book is that every person can make their own mark! not like a printed out poem.. if u write the poem with ur own hand it becomes so much more personal!

Mimi you should make a list according to the continents xD I mean, it will only take longer if we send it from Europe to America, then Australia and back to Europe an so on...

i know, ive already made a list of people who have said they'd join & who i think would definitely join like Claudia and pixiedust19.. but we need at least 20 people to start off..

then when we get a proper list, ill make the continent list and tell u who's gonna send to who.

I think i prefer the original idea of the book going through us, that's somehow amazingly personal and does highlight the unity aspect of being moonchild, and that'll make Kerli really really happy.

to be honest, im happy u said that! because.. it makes me a bit nervous if id have to give out my address to soo many people at once.. so id like to send the book around.. plus.. it would give the book a nice worn out look as well (like an old good book u know).. plus it would have all our energies in it and kerli would definitely sense that!

Yeah, I agree I love the idea of us all putting our hearts into this and passing on what we've written, along with all the entries before, to the next person.

I'm hoping there are a good few entries before it gets to me, so I can see what others have put in ^^

haha, its not so expensive! its just a bubble wrap envelope and the weight of the notebook which is not heavy at all. but have a look and let us know

and butterflycry2010 - im sure if you talk to your mother it wont be that bad. and there are always alternatives - like your best friends house? somewhere safe and where you DEFINITELY would get it..

I'm totally in for this ! I've sent presents to Sarah in Germany, so.. I'm used haha :'D I think it's a great idea, it would be so personal and I think Kerli would love to look through it as inspiration !
