I have to disagree. Gaga is and extremely talented individual. She actually writes her songs and not like some pop stars who 'write' their own music but if you look there one of 5+ people credited. She also has a hand in producing her music. She can actually sing live and play the piano, she got early admissions to Tisch because she was so talented.

An as for the originality thing, Gaga doesn't go around saying 'I'm so unique, I'm so original" I find it mostly to be people who dislike her to mention originality at all. I also find a lot of Madonna stans always whine about Gaga copying Madonna, which I find not only funny but hypocritical, as Madonna didn't directly take images from Marilyn Monroe or any thing. In a world where it seems nothing is 100% original I think you be hard pressed to find a musician that is completely original. Today it's more about taking something and making it your own.

Whether people want to admit it or not Gaga really was a jolt of new energy to the pop scene.

Well, that's not nice.
And I also disagree. I think she's way more talented than most pop stars. She actually writes music (even for other pop stars) and she plays instrument(s). She also doesn't need auto-tune.

Yeah, exactly. And Gaga does give credit where credit is due. Like the with "Alejandro" video, she said it was an homage to Madonna. I posted Madonna's "Express Yourself" video so people would see how.
And she has credited people such as Grace Jones as inspiration for things she's worn.

well i loved Gaga when she first came out! but then the Alejandro video came out! that video is just coby of Madonna's many videos,, but iam curious how her new song will sound like and i am sure she takes most of her looks from Kerli

I never really liked the song Alejandro so the video isn't my favorite, but I'm pretty sure she said it was to homage to Madonna and it was directed by Steven Klein who has worked with Madonna a lot.

And contrary to what some Kerli fans may think I really don't think Gaga sits around think "Oh what can I copy from Kerli today" The yellow hair thing is the only real thing people seem to point to as Gaga copying Kerli. And guess what? Cyndi Lauper had yellow hair before either were born. And guess who Gaga had been working with right before she started with the yellow hair? So it's plausible (and to me seems more likely) that's were she got the idea.

I don't think her hairstyle on vogue is very flattering either but I think that's what makes it amazing. Gaga is one of the only celebrities who would be willing to do that. Most celebs would never be willing to do some thing different and possibly unflattering

I hate fans like this, I always forget that they even exist because I only interact with the tumblr community of Little Monsters (and mostly just the older ones). They have are who I consider the real fans, they love Gaga and don't feel the need to constantly put down other artists. Think how it was on Kerli's, it'll be 100x worst even without this little plan

Not a fan of it. The lyrics are alright but the overall song...not so much :/

The lyrics are okay, but the song itself is just boring. Some of her beats just catch you but here it's really bland. I'm disappointed to be honest.

I think the reason I love this song is the emotions it evokes. BTW has inspired and empowered so many people and hearing those stories (and really identifying with those stories) is what makes this song so amazing. The beat is so 80s in a good way, it makes me want to dance

I don't get the haters, not the ple who dislike the song (ple have different taste, this song isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's fine) but the ones who are delusional about its success (mostly the britney stans):
If someone gives it a good review, clearly she paid them off.
The radios were payed to play it.
The only reason it's #1 on iTunes is because Apple promoted it.
HIAM technically did better because Britney didn't do any promotion

Apple didn't force anyone to buy it they just sent an e-mail, and honestly who reads alerts from itunes?
Gaga didn't really do much promotion either, she tweeted about and talked about it at the Monster Balls occasionally but honestly most people I know outside of the Little Monsters weren't really even aware that Gaga was going to release early (or at all this weekend).

The song went to #1 on iTunes in hours (although the people who were so proud of britbrit doing this a few weeks ago are claiming that the itunes chart doesn't mean anything now but that while HIAM took longer that was because it was released at midnight (these people seem to be unaware of time zones (it wasn't 12 for everyone) and that 12 is not late for most people), BTW would have done well no make what time it was released. Most gaga fans stayed up late or set alarms for the radio release of it anyway) and topped every single iTunes chart (I think that's 23 countries) and the it is expected to have sold around 500k in the US alone
It's expected to debut #1 on billboard the first time a #1 song has the word transgender in it.
Love it or hate it, you can't denying that it's huge right now


That being said most fans I know agree it's not her best song (but it does have the strongest message). And her title songs so far (The Fame & Monster) have just been average songs that don't even get released as singles. So if she can release a song that is just average music-wise that has strong opposition and can do all this, what will happen when she releases a really good song that has more wide spread support?

I do like the song "Born This Way", but I don't like she uses the terms "chola" and "orient", which are derogatory. :/ It's such a shame.

Just watched the 'Born This Way' video..

Not sure if I like it or not. I thought the beginning was incredibly cheesy and I rolled my eyes at it. The rest wasn't so bad. I like her makeup in it and the skeleton sections were pretty cool. The dancing was nice as well.
