So, I've been secretly writing poems in a journal for a while ^_^
so I've decided to start my own little thread for some of them.
here are just a few to start with x]]]

Shadows Around Me

I see them in my dreams
I see them in the dark
the shadows around me
Tease me
Trying to influence me
"Kesa, let me in. Kesa, speak to me."
I hear them in the silence
Laughing at my pain
Taunting my every move
No wonder I'm ashamed
Their footsteps up the stairs
Their browsing through my journals
"Kesa, you're no good."
"Kesa, your dreams won't come true.
Cave, Kesa, cave. Stop everything you do."
Don't you know?
The game they play
How they taunt
Or how they laugh
inside the closet
or under my bed
Can't you see?
Shadows around me.



Rainbow

Up in the bright blue sky
Around the puffy white clouds
Above the bushy green trees
The rainbow in the sky
Is all that I can see
It takes away the pain
Makes me wanna smile
Helps me realize all the good things in life
And why I will always fight
That rainbow in the sky
The colorful arch, I love
Red, orange, yellow, green
Takes away all the screams
Blue, purple, all together
Looking in the sky at all the beautiful colors
That rainbow in the sky
Takes away the pain
Makes me wanna smile
I'd run mile after mile
Just to see
The big, bright, beautiful rainbow in the sky.

i wouldnt be able to name one specific inspiration, but for "shadows around me" i just kinda felt some sort of dark presence around me and i felt like everything i did wasnt good enough.

for "rainbow" i really LOVE looking at rainbows and they make me really happy, and whenever i spot one in the sky i just stare at it and stare at it and stare at it until i cant anymore. whenever i look at a rainbow i dont feel anything dark or bad inside me, its all light

Passing by every given opportunity

Hiding from yourself
From the rest of the world
Because you lack self confidence

Telling yourself your going to be somebody
When you feel like nobody
Telling yourself your going to do something
But you cant walk the walk

Feeling emotions you've never felt before
Feeding off of other peoples joy
As you pass by all the possibilities... that are now behind you

Everyone is calling your name
Trying to get your attention
Trying to distract you from the illusion your following

But you can't hear them
All you hear are the sounds of screams coming from within you
Emotions bottled up inside

You don't know what to do with yourself
Let alone your life
So you sit there staring at nothing
Lost in a world of possibilities.

Before I fall asleep,

While you rock me back and forth
In grandma's rocking chair.

Once I've fallen asleep in your arms,

For comfort as I recover

About that baby girl
Who smiles just like me

To remember years from now

All of these are fab, Shadows Around Me and Possibilities are my favourites Lullaby is adorable, but sad to me in a way. I got a little choked up when I was reading it ^^
