while i disagree that she has the vocal talent to sing the song Firework, that song is horrible even for her. It's once again degrading women to sexual objects meant only for the purpose of pleasing men... (I'm somewhat of a feminist, so yeah there's a big difference between female empowerment sexy and degrading sexy that she never seems to not get)

agree, her messages of "lets have Sex" is not helping the world ANY. it is not helping the teenage pregnancy problem, and only teaches young girls that they need to have sex, and it is the only way to please men. And yes, she does NOT get the difference between slutty sexy and empowering sexy.

its garbage! i liked her first album "just one of the boys" because the songs weren't overly shit, they were kind of good, and even though it had some promiscuous themes and lyrics, i still thought over all it was okay, but THIS, WTF. i mean, has anyone heard the song PEACOCK? one of the worst., not in the song, but the meaning and lyrics.
S&M by Rihanna is better than this, it was dirty but just fun. this id gross and slutty, i'm sorry but IMO

The only song I like of her is "fireworks", the awkward moment when you see fireworks comming out of her body XD
After listening to this peacock thing and after I managed to get back on my chair ( I trolled so hard I fell XD) I must say Katty Perry comes up with some very beep and emotional songs with lyrics like "Don't Be A Chicken Boy, Stop Acting Like A Biatch" or "What You're Waiting For? It's Time For You To Show It Off". Isn't it marvelous how she manages to achieve rime while in the same time the harmony of the lyrics echoes deep into your ears bringing tears to your eyes... I sent this to my bro and I am sure its not his heart thats going to be move XD

I don't like the lyrics in her music.I tired to get into her but i just can't.The only song i really like is.Friday night.The only good song of her's that is not too dirty.

OMG please don't confuse the army with the Marines. They are no way the same branch.

Personally I didn't see the vid as y'all did. I saw her saying that the part he couldn't take away was her strength and her pride in her country. I didn't see it in anyway "defeminizing" her. Of course I have a younger sister who is a former Marine like me so I'm far from being objective. I was lucky, I never was wounded. She lost her left foot. I'm very proud of ANY female who joins a service, no matter the branch or the country.

I am sorry to confuse them, i know they are differernt, i was just typing fast so i got confused, lol.
and i did not mean it was defeminizing her, but it is the fact that she used The Marines ( or any branch) in a video, with out any real thought. The Force is a great thing! really, don't get me wrong, but i thought her use of it in the video was distasteful, and it brings a wrong message.

I am not saying i don't like Katy Perry, she is talented and i like some of her songs, but i just think she does some things that are wrong

sex is a beautiful thing, and that's okay to use in songs, but using sex in a negative way, and being a slut, is not. especially when 13 year old girls are you're main audience.

i'm very very sorry if i offended anyone.
i did not mean that pop-stars cause teenage pregnancy, or that they are a direct cause of it. i just meant that i think this generation of children are strongly influence by the media, and certain pop or music idols, etc. so when an artist who is very very big and watched, like Katy Perry,does something like put out a very dirty song, or a video, people including kids will be listening, and be somewhat influenced. I know that a teen getting pregnant, or having sex, has nothing to do with what music they listen to, it just that when every artist is making music like this, it kind of changes the time and morals. Our society (America) has become more acceptable to teenage sex, and pregnancy, because of the time and morality in which we live in. I think Music and Popstars have a BIG influence on society.

Believe me, i like Katy Perry, i do not mean to call her a slut, which she is not, or degrade her. i think she has talent, but she is deeply watched and listened to,as a lot of artists are, and should just be careful.

I hope i didn't say anything rude. I do think she's talented to. I'M just not a fan really of that music. I do agree Aduhm about the way our society has changed. I do think teens will have sex with out this music.They will have sex no matter how many times the parents drill into the teens not too.

I think her new album is awesome. I love her new song.. I think she can sing. She has a beautiful voice. She's got some good songs,

I also like this song.

She seems like a nice down to earth person, I love her music now. I've gave it a chance. Some I don't like. It does make me happy her music.

I don't like PRISM that much, but I agree, she seems like such a nice person, while all the other popstars are trying to compete with each ohter. Perhaps I'll give it another chance. I really liked "By The Grace of God" and "Spiritual" from the first few listens

So far I have not liked Prism at all, Roar has never grown on me and Unconditionally is just ok. (I still can't listen to her live half the time.) A good chunk of the rest of the songs felt like Teenage Dream rejects that were rejected for a reason.

I never heard her sing live. So I can't comment on that. I do agree that some singers sound very bad live. She doesn't sing good live?

Yeah. That's okay if you don't like her new album. We all have are own taste.

I seen part of her interview on Canada AM this morning. I like her deep songs on the albums.

Some of her songs are fine live it's mostly the ones she has to belt during that I can't stand. Her voice doesn't have a very big range and she sounds like she strains to keep notes going a lot. This all being said I feel I sound say Teenage Dreams is one of my fav pop albums of the last few years
