And holeeee crap it's annoying, the commentators are clueless. But hopefully people will look the song up if they liked it. Kerli herself is OK with this, though. But it's still annoying, and shameful for the commentators for not bothering to look up who the singer is.

I've been wondering; did they just use the song with no permission? Cause if so, that's a bit strange

I don't understand why they are saying it's "Lady Gaga" when it's not. Can't they tell that it's NOT her voice?

Not once do they say the song is sung by Lady Gaga so I don't get why people act the commentators said that. They said the performance was inspired by Lady Gaga, which is probably how the people who were in charge of this piece described in the program they give to the networks.

I don't understand why mention Gaga (or any artist) at all; if it's inspired by something, it's inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Nothing Gaga-like or even Kerli-like in the outfits or the dance. Heck, I see more Willy Wonka in them than anything. Unless the people in charge of the performance genuinely are that confused themselves. I dunno, the whole thing is just confusing :D
But still, awesome that Kerli's song was used, it was perfect for something like this and she is happy about it as well. I guess a lot of people are looking up who this "Kerli" is :D

^I do agree it's more inspired by Alice in Wonderland (or even Willy Wonka) than anything, which is likely why the song was used because it was on that soundtrack. Nothing about the performance was Gaga or Kerli inspired. It's just annoying me to see everyone blaming the commentators when really it would have been the choreographer who describe it as "gaga-inspired". Those commentators are given a list and description of what's in the parade beforehand, likely a full blown script. They're not making up what they're saying on the fly so all these Kerli fans I've seen calling them really rude things need to stop mostly because they're being really rude but also because they're blaming the wrong people

Inspire: fill (someone) with the urge or ability to do or feel something, esp. to do something creative.
The person behind the dance was inspired by Gaga for whatever reason. As the performance was called The Mad Hatter I'd say it's because in her music video for Applause she is sitting in a giant top hatter and somewhat dressed as the mad hatter. Also her childhood dog named alice recently died and she tweeted "I just pray Alice found her wonderland". Also you can just because you're inspired by something doesn't mean it has to be a literal interpretation. I could say my next meal is inspired by Gaga if I wanted to, it doesn't make any sense but it doesn't have to if that's what inspired me to make that food

Well, this is a confusing thing :D

And OK, I can see how inspiration works. It may not always be apparent to outsiders. I've been inspired by wet hair on the bathroom floor O.o But...

I don't understand why omit mentioning whose song it is, then.

:D

^exactly. No matter who said what, the bright side is that there was some exposure and if the people who heard it are anything like a lot of people I know, they will look it up if they liked it anyway.
