Scar Tissue
Blood drips down from my mind
Trailing little droplets on the floor
Recollections of days scattered to dust
Don't remind me of my own naivete
I already know
Rust covered hands, rendered obsolete
Something close to non-being
How blind could I be?
To think protecting you would be the right thing to do
You'd be better off hollow and unable to feel
Gazing at the world through checkerboard eyes
And then you'll understand
When the human shell is shed
There is nothing left but a string of ideas
No emotion left, only the emptiness of logic
Finally strong, finally perfect
Finally free, finally enlightened
Finally bulletproof,
But I'm no longer human, only animated ideology
Trailing little droplets on the floor
Recollections of days scattered to dust
Don't remind me of my own naivete
I already know
Rust covered hands, rendered obsolete
Something close to non-being
How blind could I be?
To think protecting you would be the right thing to do
You'd be better off hollow and unable to feel
Gazing at the world through checkerboard eyes
And then you'll understand
When the human shell is shed
There is nothing left but a string of ideas
No emotion left, only the emptiness of logic
Finally strong, finally perfect
Finally free, finally enlightened
Finally bulletproof,
But I'm no longer human, only animated ideology
