'Zero Gravity': New Kerli Single Drops

Estonian bubble-goth princess Kerli is ready to take you on an odyssey in her just-dropped, celestial new single "Zero Gravity." With soaring synths, surging electronica, and throbbing beats, "Zero Gravity" is a big, addictive pop track with a euphoric message, glacial vocals, and the kind of powerful, uplifting electro that will have you feeling weightless.

Kerli has definitely come a long way since her 2008 pop-rock oriented release 'Love Is Dead.' Following the electronic leanings of her buzz single "Army of Love," there's a hint of new-age influence in the new song, as well as pulsating 90's techno and industrial rave. And near the end of the track, there is a massive, chills-inducing breakdown of crashing synths and distorted vocals that can only be described as something you might thrash to at a neon-bathed rave in Tokyo... or on the moon.

[Single Review] Kerli – “Zero Gravity”



Kerli made a successful transition from creepy art-popper to rave diva last year when her electro-pop hit “Army of Love” topped the Billboard Club charts. Now she’s back with her official follow-up single, “Zero Gravity”, which is guaranteed to further cement her status as America’s only favorite Estonian club queen.

Co-written and produced by Scandipop duo Svante Halldin and Jakob Hazell, “Zero Gravity” is about as typical as club music gets in 2012. It’s packaged with nostalgic 90s piano riffs, huge Ibiza-style synths, and even a Bubblegoth dubstep breakdown. Kerli serves up intergalactic metaphors galore (“You take me on an odyssey,” she coos, “you got me feeling weightless.“) over the song’s euphoric production, using the limitless reaches of space to sing about a new romance.

It’s got all the makings of a major club hit, and once it gets the remix treatment, it’ll be a done deal.

Initially, it was kind of sad to see how quick Kerli was to delve into dance after the release of her bizarrely amazing debut Love Is Dead, and unlike fellow bandwagoner Marina and the Diamonds, the Estonian songstress hasn’t really tried to do anything new with the genre. But on the other hand, Kerli’s generic new tunes are so irresistibly catchy and danceable that chastising her for the genre hop isn’t just pointless, but also completely unfair.

Kerli may not be as original as she once was, but “Zero Gravity” is proof that sometimes a move to the mainstream ain’t always such a bad thing.

Estonian artist, Kerli, just released her newest single, Zero Gravity. Kerli rose to fame in 08, when she released several dance heavy tracks, like "Army of Love." Zero Gravity has beautiful vocals, that fit in perfectly with the song. All the highs are hit perfectly. Give this track a listen!

FORGET MADONNA! Kerli Debuts "Zero Gravity" Video

Holy fuck. Forget Madonna's just released 'Girl Gone Wild' clip, moments ago, Estonian artist living here in L.A., Kerli just dropped the video of the year so far for a song Madonna only wishes she had on her new record. "Zero Gravity" is god damn gorgeous and it's four perfect minutes of pop bliss with an EDM twist. The clip was shot here in Los Angeles at a studio in Glendale (area of east L.A.) and it looks otherworldly. Fitting for the Estonian godess that with any luck will be on the tip of everyone's tongue by summer. Also, the very good Laidback Luke remix of "Zero Gravity" may help this celestial jam make its way into some sets of big DJs this festival season. Besides, this video clip you're so fond of looks like a shitty Sci-Fi movie from the 80s with horrible special effects! Kerli Drops Some Hot Girl on Girl Kisses in ‘Zero Gravity’




We don't really cover music here on Egotastic!, and we really don't cover the hot music in the clubs, because we don't go to clubs, and, if we did, we'd do so with our iPods, some earbuds, and some Def Leppard drowning out all else, but what we do cover is hot celebrity girls, and when they start kissing other girls, we cover them all over (wait, that didn't come out right).

Estonian pop music hottie sensation Kerli has a new music video out today, Zero Gravity, which is a crude scientific description of what seems to be happening to us whilst watching her kissing some other weird model looking chicks in shitlocks. We can never get enough Sapphic love. It's not what we live for, but we wouldn't want to live without it either.

Estonian singer Kerli releases the music video for her latest dance single "Zero Gravity." In the clip, Kerli is showcased in various realms including hanging upside down from a tree as a cocoon, floating in the ski as an angel and a disco dancer.

"The Zero Gravity video is about transformation," according to Kerli. "I tried to mix all this super angelic stuff with some more cyber/techno stuff."

"Zero Gravity" will appear on Kerli's forthcoming sophomore album.

Now this is one you definately don’t want to miss. Estonian recording artist Kerli slowly gained fame in Sweden and Estonia after she took part in the countries national Eurovision selections in 2003 and 2004. Since she signed a record deal with LA Reid and released her first album ‘Love is Dead’ which spanned the singles ‘Love is Dead’, ‘Walking on Air’ and ‘Creepshow’ in 2008.

Since she’s appeard on the soundtrack for the Alice in Wonderland film and started recording her second album ‘Army of Love’ which was preceeded with the promo-single ”Army of Love” in April 2011. The second lead single from the new album is the dancey ”Zero Gravity” was released Monday. Kerli has now also revealed the video for it.

It’s definately a lot more dancey than her ‘Bubblegoth’ style. The Bubblegoth style is a style Kerli’s adopted ever since there was disagreement in the press, especially after the release of her first album, whether to label her as goth or label her als bubblegum Goth. The new video plays into that idea where it sees Kerli’s bubblegoth character merging with the Europopdance superstar her label wants her to be.

It’s an innocent eurofriendly radiopop song, and we think it has all the potential to do well across Europe. The scenes of Kerli stripped back as a natural beauty, flying in the sky are simply breathtaking (think Pixie Lott-wise).

Kerli Returns With Dance-Pop Single and Esoteric Video "Zero Gravity"

A few years back I interviewed Estonian pop singer Kerli. She is a fiercely independent artist and, at that point in her career, her music seemed to have a rather dark edge. Now the approach has lightened to club ready dance pop. Her 2010 single "Army Of Love" was a #1 dance hit here in the US. She has now released the first official single from an upcoming second album. It is titled "Zero Gravity," and, while the music is straightforward dance pop, the imagery of the accompanying video is more unique. It is impossible to not see some influence from Bjork. Canadian director Alon Isocianu put together the clip. Check out "Zero Gravity" below.

It’s Tuesday! Time for another round of “5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week”! This week’s wrap-up includes offerings from an Estonian goth-pop princess, a Danity Kane solo star and the one and only: Madonna. If I had my way, every song on this Top 5 would be from her new album, MDNA (which came out yesterday — check out our track-by-track review), but I’m retraining myself. After all, there’s still plenty of solid tunes from amazing artists NOT named Madonna out this week, too!

It is a well-known fact that Estonia’s greatest exports are machinery, textiles and bubbly Goth-pop chanteuses named Kerli. The blonde Björk-gone-supa kawaii, responsible for penning Demi Lovato’s devastating “Skyscraper,” returns to the spotlight in 2012 with her brand-new single “Zero Gravity,” the lead of her follow-up to 2008’s Love Is Dead.

“Feels like coming home after traveling a million miles,” Kerli croons across her new single’s thundering electronic beat, vaguely recalling Alexandra Burke’s equally mile-a-minute club-pop track, “Elephant.” Suddenly the beat drops completely: “Oh, I’m in zero gravity!” she cries, as a storming beat suddenly comes blaring into the speakers. If you think the song’s a trip, you should check the spacey-geisha-’90s club kid-butterfly inspired video. (Nope, I have no idea what just happened either.)
