Artists From your Country

I'm a bit curious about artists from countries besides the really known like USA or UK, who have really good artists, but are globaly more famous.. Here you can post a song from your country, even if the artist is huge there, or even if you are the only one who likes this song..I'm going first...

Demy started last year with a crazy hit, and right now, this is her second and it's CRAZY how we dance here on clubs at this...She's really cute, even if this isn't her real job , she studies at law school..The song is called "Mono brosta" which means "Only ahead" (when you walk) and talks about , what else, a girl that sees a boy and gets crazy about him!

And this one is a co-operation with Playmen, the best dance couple of Greece right now,...They do excellent job..Summer hits win!!

I'm totally in love with anouk since 1998...Nobody's wife is still an hymn of indepentend women and "for bitter or worse" makes me cry every time..I have all of her albums...Wihin temptation are AWESOME too...I mean, ok, Sharon has amazing voice.. Ice queen is one of my fav too...Also what have you done..i spent a whole summmer listening to only this song.. <3

An artist that i love is Eleonora Zouganeli.. She's the daughter of one of the most talented and funny actor/singer/writer of Greece..She started about 3 years ago, and she's one of the best voices right now in greece..Her lyrics are always beautiful, ouching and meaningful..these are two of my fav songs of hers.

Cristal Snow is easily the coolest artist from Finland imo ^^ He is the only guy in Finland who looks a little different and still has success, very inspiring.

Chisu is just incredible and she is one of the most popular singers here. She has a really nice voice and she has written for tons of other artists like Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish) :3

Oh and of course our precious fairy pop rock band Indica <3

Midnight wow.Ok tokyo hotel are really famous..Eisblumen is so sweet.and Valentine is so pretty and talented..really nice!!..i speak german, well, i used to, so i kinda understand the lyrics..Plus some of my relatives live in Munich for over 25 years! And correct me if i'm wrong, but Ramnstein are also german (love them!) classic Scorpions too, who here is greece are H*U*G*E and i like some of Bushido's songs..I'm I right? aren't all of them german? I think your country has a really good music industry, as France and Italy do, in my opinion..

hahahahahahahahaa....i think it's weird you like this song...there's nothing wrong with that, it's a good song, with a tricky rythm...i liked it too...it's just eurovision song, and we usually forget about them in a short time....the only one who stays the same and has a huge career is Helena Paparizou.. Syrtaki is a traditional dance...this music makes you feel greek even if you're not...it speaks to your heart! Opa is a word that greeks use a lot..See, we like to dance, and "party" and eating and drinking..So when we dance syrtaki, or hasapiko, or generally having fun, we scream "Opaaaaa" to show we dig that and we have passion... they used to break dishes on the floor too, now it's more just the word and the dance part..hahahhaa...Gosh, i feel so proud of my ethics and traditions...we're kinda crazy, i know...

in Croatia opa can be translated as oops, and as mile86 said: when we dance, or generally having fun, we scream "opaaaaa" (Same is here in Croatia )

Love this thread, I love hearing artists from other countries. As I'm from the US I can't add much, But I love the Ukrainian male group Kazaky, it's such great dance music! The greatest American musician that the rest of the world doesn't care about though is Garth Brooks, country music can be really good sometimes, I'll try to think of some of the names but they make great love/heartbreak songs

something to add...because im randomly thinking about it

most english groups are overrated i mean take most songs anymore and listen to them....they are either about sex drugs or some crappy club beat that makes you want to hurl.

take her for example i mean listen to the songs she sings....its about either peeing on people or waving your crap in the air

listen to older music they sang such beautiful songs ((monroe and other like her)) and well they had the ability to sing and didnt use the voice over to sing.... i dont want to live in this world if that is considered good music T_T goodbye cruel world of crappy music

One of the most famous female artists in Greece is Helena Paparizou.. She became even greater after her victory In Eurovision Song Contest in 2005..She's really cute and talented, and guys find her really hot here..

Vegas is a quite new group, started about 4 years ago.. The have style and nice rythm, and they became quite popular...

I'm sure everyone knows Nightwish, HIM, Sonata Arctica, Apocalyptica, Children of Bodom and such from my country... We have some more mainstream crap, too. Of which I know nothing about, lol. Cheek seems to be awfully popular, though (a hip hop artist...). Here's one of my favorites (again):

I love the chorus, with the alternating double and triplet bass drumming ^_^

Anything sounds good when you're drunk xD So I'm sure even I would dance to that when I've had enough. And yeah, Finland is a cold country, we don't really wear bikinis :3 And TBH, not many have the body for them lol

Indeed they are Finnish! Their music isn't really my style, but I still like many of the songs. And they have nice style with their music videos, and Marko has a great voice.

I know Havoc Unit is a bit too brutal for most people ^^

Thommy Apergi is a new artist in Greece... i really really love her... i love her voice, the sound of her music, it makes my mind travel...and you've got to admit it, she's hot..they call her greek eva mendes... anyway i think she's one of the best new artists right now..

Gotye, our more recent artist (technically he is belgian but he moved to Australia at age 2)

Guy Sebastian, this song is also recent and hitting the charts.

Cassie Davis, she had a popular hit in 2009. Haven't heard of her since.

Havana Brown, she is also a new singer.
