Album release delayed

At the moment its November 21st and the new year is in less than two months. I think it's safe to say the album is not coming until next year. Labels don't tend to release brand new singles in December as its Christmas season and they would usually release the full album at that time to benefit from the holiday rush.

I know Kerli said that the album and/or single was 'coming like right now' but it's kind of too late at this point. I think they will probably shoot for a spring 2012 release for the single and summer for the album. Hopefully I'm entirely wrong! But I think it may be smarter.

Thoughts?

Honestly I think there is no album coming out. If her label was serious and actually believed in her they wouldn't be waiting and delaying it. this album has been "coming soon" since 2009.

I agree that album will not be released until next year.
I know its not Kerli's fault that album is not already out, but she shouldnt announced that it will be released soon.

I think the fans' frustration with the album release comes from both Kerli and Her label. @secretpersonfp. I believe there IS an album. It's just that A)Her label is probably wary on releasing it. and B)Kerli keeps saying it's 'coming soon'. While i do know it's not her decision of WHEN the album is getting released, she should know better than to keep saying it's coming soon. Empty promises won't keep fans around.

With that being said, from what I've heard, this album sounds VERY radio friendly, and I'm extremely confused as to WHY her label isn't releasing it. Army of Love and Zero Gravity are both very catchy. With what's on the radio now, with alot of promotion, Zero Gravity has potential to be a Radio hit. Doll Face also has alot of potential.

She's doing the photoshoot for the new single, or has done it, I'm not sure. That might not be like.. a HUGE deal, but... it means that SOME progress is being made. I say we're looking at a February 2012 album release, with the Debut Single being released in January. This is all just my opinion, by the way.

however...i hope this album sees the light someday...even we have waited a lot...i want to believe in kerli...but at this point.. i got bored..hope the album comes out soon

I remember after she performed at Ollesummer, she said the album would be released Fall 2009, and later that year she said first part of 2010.. We are in 2011, and she also said in the end of 2010 that it would be released around the summer. And I remember she answered a question on formspring about the single or something, being released before september because a person wanted to hear the song before going to the military or something..

Any buzz she gained from Tea Party or Army of Love is long dead. And the buzz from all the summer shows isn't going to last too much longer. I think it's really unwise for her label to wait so long. Not all of her fans are willing to wait for this album like us. Any new fans she might have gained will probably have forgotten about her by the time the new album comes out -.-; Her label should keep that in mind...

Well,I would like a full honest answer from kerli.Not any more soons. The album is either coming out or it's not.Least give us fans some old demos to keep the fans happy intill it comes out. I'am so sick of waiting.This is a good way to lose fans,

I think that there's no album coming out this year, maybe she'll release a physical single as a christmas present, 'cause many artist release an album on christmas time 'cause if you're a fan your gonna buy it to put it on the tree =)
As for me, I became a fan of her in middle 2010 (But i know her since she sang with Tokio Hotel), so it's not a long-wait for me, but I do wanna hear new stuff cause i get tired of songs too fast

Well her label missed ALL of the good promotion she's had, seriously look at the list from this year alone:

- Army of Love was a #1 Dance/Club Play single
- Popeater and AOL followed Kerli and documented the entire making of the "Army of Love" video on they're website.
- She performed endlessly over the summer at multiple Pride events and major music concerts and clubs to great reviews.
- She was prominently credited for writing Demi Lovato's hit single "Skyscraper" and was even featured in a magazine for it and tweeted by Lovato herself (which also made news).

It would have been incredibly smart for her label to release the single in the midst of all of that promotion for a December album release. But no, they missed the mark officially. And I'm sure they know that which is why they are not rushing this out.

As for 'Army of Love', yes the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart that it hit #1 on is measured only by the amount of airplay the song gets in clubs. The song didn't sell very much as it didn't make a top 100 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 (which measures overall singles sales). But remember it was originally a free download on her website, so many people already had it by the time it was for sale.

I was thinking about that too... too bad they missed it out, maybe she need to say goodbye to her label and go and search for another one - look what happened to Avril Lavigne, she was in RCA and they said she needed to wrote songs more ''Friendly'' for the radio stations and they didn't knew how to promote her (Remainds me of kerli & her label), so she changed to Epic Records & LA Raid like less than 1 month ago and now she has like 7 peorformances to do and to promote her new single just for what it's left of this month... But i know that it's hard to find a record label, so i don't think she's gonna do that.

It seems like her lable has no faith in kerli. Something fishy is going on with her lable.

I think so to.. If they really had faith in it, it would be released already. Maybe Kerli is the one who constantly wants to make the album better. If she continues doing that, her album will never be released >_<

Theire must be a good reason why they have not released it by not. It's either her lable or kerli's not happy with it so she still working on it.

^ I have a feeling it's her label that isn't happy with it, so they keep making her write new material for it. Since she write her own songs they probably don't have as much faith in her as oppose to artists who just sing whatever their label gives to them

I think Kerli should stay with this label for now just because it may be hard for her to find another label when she's a newer artist on the scene. And "Love Is Dead" didn't do great (because of no promotion btw) so another label wouldn't be exactly quick to pick her up when album sales are declining for everyone these days.

I think it's pretty crazy to think that we'll get the album this year. She said the album would come around the time of the second single... and we don't have a reason to believe single 1 is going to be out soon. Sure she says it, but most singles have public release dates around a month before they're released. And when something is THIS long awaited, they'd probably do it even sooner. I think everyone needs to stop believing the album is coming this year, because I feel like there's been too many warning signs to say it's coming. If we weren't all mega-fans, I'm sure we'd have all thought it was being delayed months ago. It's just our hope clinging on to the "soon" factor. I think everyone needs to realize it's coming in 2012. I'm near positive. She's done SO much promotion for it, that she can't wait much longer, but now isn't the moment.

But the negativity aside, the album is coming. She's spent SO much work on it that there's no way that it isn't. Just wait.

My predictions for dates are:

Name of First Single Released: December 23, 2011
First Single Release Date Announced: December 24, 2011 (As a Christmas present, since we got AOL last year.)
First Single Released: January 19, 2012 (For some reason, I think it'll be released on a Thursday. Maybe because that would give Fri, Sat, and Sun for promotion and the actual "discovery" is before that.)
Music Video for First Single and Album Name Released: January 27, 2012
Name and Release Date of Second Single Announced: February 10, 2012
Album Release Date Announced: February 17, 2012
Second Single Released: February 29, 2012
Album Released: March 8, 2012
Second Single Music Video: March 10, 2012

Don't label's usally droup people who are not bring the company any money? Well I really do hope the albumb and single comes out next year. I would really love to here the new albumb.I agree kerli has really worked hard on this.

I really still thinks the label doesn't seem like have any faith in her. That could be a reason why it's not being put out cuz her label doesn't like her songs.

Maybe kerli really needs to make a 100% poppy CD. Then when she becomes some what more popular she can have an CD with her own songs.

Sorry, but this isn't Kerli's fault at all.

Island Def Jam is a RnB/Hip-Hop oriented label so their RnB/Hip-Hop artists will always come first and pop artists get put on the back burner.
