Army of Love shoes

I thought I'd share what I've been working on. They're (clearly) inspired by Kerli's shoes from the Army of Love video and they will probably be part of a Halloween costume (and concert going shoes if they're sturdy enough). They're a work in progress somewhat.

More or less glue and flip flops. I can make a tutorial if you want, I haven't finished it's partner yet.

Yeah I'm working on a tutorial. I'll put it up later, I had to make some adjustments but they're (mostly) done now

have you finished it's partner by now? how do they walk anyway?

^ I haven't finished because I kind of blew up my glue gun (never leave one of those suckers on for 5 days straight it doesn't end well) and I've been to lazy to go to town to buy a new one. They're interesting to walk in to say the least. they're really bouncy and kind of awkward because I'm not used to shoes that tall that lack an arch.. They're fun to jump in though... running in them is painful (well the falling part anyway)

Are they easy to walk in? Kerli says these bouncy platforms are very comfortable to walk in. Anyway, those shoes are amazing!

Yeah they're really comfortably. Hers are probably easier to walk in than mine because hers shoes are wider and therefore the platform is wider and more stable to walk in

I've done this before and sadly the gun didn't hold up after one hard walk so I'm looking for a more permanent method.

Mine haven't fallen apart yet, but I haven't worn them a lot... I ended up using this ridiculous glue my brother gave me that was industrial strength construction glue, he used it to mend tires or something, I think I'm going to make another pair soon these were kind of a test run, they ended up ok but they probably wouldn't hold up at a concert :/

Those are so amazing! I've been wanting to make my own platforms but I just had no idea how to even get started. Using flip flops was brilliant!

Oh noooo, the shoe goo didn't hold up? D: I was going to attempt platforms based on > this tutorial <, I wish I would've seen yours first because I already bought the fail glue!

Have you tried to make any more platforms since?
