Indica (Dark fairy pop rock)

Indica is a Finnish pop rock group founded in 2001. Jani Jalonen of Sony Music became interested in the group, and a recording contract was signed 2003. Indica's first album, Ikuinen virta was released in 2004. It has since sold platinum in Finland.

Indica supported Nightwish during their Scandinavian tour 2007 in which they performed English versions of their songs. Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish produced their next album, Valoissa, while many of the songs employed the orchestral talents of Pip Williams and the literary talents of their lyrics collaborator Rory Winston. The band was also added to the line-up for Nightwish's 2nd half of the Dark Passion Play Tour with Pain.

They just recently released their first english album and here's the first single:

I LOVE INDICA O___O I've been trying to request their music to be added to the US itunes store for years! So far they've only added two albums ): I was hoping with their english album they'd try to also break out into North America, but it seems they're only focusing on Europe for now.

Oh wow I really like that song! I'll definitely have to listen to more of their music, thanks for posting this Ene! I'm always on the lookout for bands and singers from outside the US and UK, I love to find music that's beautiful and completely different like this ^^

Their new album is available on every iTunes store except the US ;___; I'm depressed...I guess I'll plan a road trip to Canada.

Edit: Actually, I think the album is coming out in the US next week. Please ignore my petty whining =P

Well their label is Nuclear Blast (for the new album), so I don't see why it wouldn't. It's defiantly on the Canadian iTunes store though.

I really hope their english album gets them more fame, but I don't want them to switch completely over to english. Their finnish music is so special!

They definitely deserve more recognition, they're so talented But you're right, it would be a shame if they broke away from the magical sound of their Finnish songs altogether.

I'm totally crazy about their song Askeleet *.* It's so gorgeous, it makes me want to cry...I have a real thing for panpipes ^^

I'm worried their label might push for more English albums since they're making such a big deal out of A Way Away =/ We need to preserve awesome finnish artists who actually sing in finnish! Dx

My favorite songs by them are Hämärää, Saalistaja, Ikuinen Virta, Linnansa Vanki, Pyromaani, Hiljainen Maa, Lasienkeli, and too many others xD (and excuse my finnish spelling, lol)

I love the new album they are so amazingly unique.

Yesterday I've bought their album,i didn't know they're already out in Germany...i really love them now,like they're almost my second favorite band now,thank you Ene..! I also love the finnish songs,but the english ones are also very fantastic..i adore Lilja's Lament,Eerie Eden,...Jonsu is an awesome songwriter and singer,she's definitely my fave,but the others are creating such a beautiful music as well,so a perfect cooperation of 5 wonderful finnish girls!

Not European ones ^^; But it's kind of strange considering every other country got it. Plus, the fact that there is a Nuclear Blast Record company in America O_o; They don't really have an excuse not to release it...I've been requesting it everyday on iTunes and even contacted their record company to no avail ):

All the online prices are like $30-$70 for a basic CD with only 12 songs (and don't forget oversea shipping costs -.-; ) That's ridiculous. It's available on iTunes in every country for about $10, and I'm not paying anymore than that.

omg..That's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much money so not worth it..I never pay over 20 bucks for any cd...

That's a good idea....Hope it comes on itunes usa....Cuz i like a few songs from them too...It's not really fair.Canada and usa get's left out from time 2 time.
