Nails, tips, etc.

I've noticed that people have been talking about having nail-biting issues, weak nails, etc., so I decided that I should make a topic completely about nails.
We can talk about nail polishes you use, nail hardeners, tips and tricks you use to fix your nails, stuff like that.

Also, feel free to post interesting nail polishing tutorials you have found on YouTube. Recently, I have been very into painting my nails and making them cute. I used to have a huge nail biting problem, but it has mostly subsided since I've started wearing nail polish because I remind myself that it's bad for me. Anyway, I have found interest in bubzbeauty, a YouTube user who does hair, DIY projects, makeup, and sometimes nails.

So, I used her Cupcake Nail tutorial, so I decided, I'd share it with you. :3

I use this pink and blue nail polish called essie.It's pretty good. It comes in like all kinds of dark colours to bright ones,





you can buy it at wal-mart and drug stores I've seen.It's under 10 bucks.

I need nail ideas... I took my cupcake nails off cos I had a better idea, and then I realized I didn't have all the colors I needed, but that was after I removed my polish. So, any ideas?

could u put tiny stickers on your nails?

I used to want long nails cuz one friend (boy) of mine had long nails and it was soo cute haha Then again i got oral fixation and if i don't have anything else to bite then it's my nails so i cant really keep them in good shape for a long time. I like BRIGHT nail polishes and usually when i wear them i don't either bite.

I could put stickers on them, but I prefer drawing designs on my nails.

I tried just a random idea yesterday, and it turned out pretty good. It's pink and black cheetah print and blue and black zebra print, alternating fingers.

I have horrible nails with splits so I use the stuff Kerli said "Nailtiques" and it is a MIRACLE!!!!!
here is some cool things to try (I Have not done any of these):

I've done water marbling with my nails before.

Wow water marbling seems really cool.... I have to try it <3

The only problem is if you don't protect your skin it takes forever to get the excess polish off. :/

^ Maybe it wouldn't stick too much if you put moisturizer or Vaseline on the skin before water marbling? Nail polish (or any other paint, really) doesn't stick very well on oily surfaces. Like skin, if crumbles off pretty quickly.
But if you're in a hurry, I've used a q-tip tipped in nail polish remover to take off the polish from skin. I always paint my nails rather messily :D

Water marbling is a bit scary. I tried it once and it dried before I even had time to put my nails in the water ...

Lol yeah you have to be really quick, Beffy.

Forace, yeah, I just use a cotton ball or a q-tip to remove it, it's very simple, but still messy. :/

How do you protect your skin? What is the best way?

Well, you can always use tape around your nails. Also, they say you can use Vaseline or lotion because it will make your skin oily so the nail polish won't stick.

Yeah, they seem totally bubbly.

I tried yesterday the marbling...but it was horrible LOL....my finger end all purple like a big mixed of colors...no no no...it was ugly LOL....maybe i did it wrong i will try again xDD

Lol it's okay. The first time I did it totally messed it up.

My nails never stop growing in the summer. I cut them yesterday and they've already grown xD Haha.. awesome.

eating lots of jello makes your nails strong.

I don't eat jello... But I use this hand cream which is great for nails I love it.

I need more nail polish ideas for going back to school.

I remembered another good tip for nails. A good nail file! I recommend glass nail files, because they are so fine you can file in any direction (with normal, course files you always file towards the tip of your nail, never "backwards"), they are hygienic because you can wash them, and they last for years! Also, a filing with a fine nail file causes the oils in your nail to come out, which works as glue between the layers of your nail. This might help if your nails usually break in layers.

I'm going to have to find one of those. My nails break in layers very easily.... Thanks for the tip!

I'll mention this tip here as well: sinking your nails in olive oil makes them stronger! Rubbing them with the olive oil helps, too.

I need to redo mine. They were white with a pink stripe down the middle, and blue MoonMarks on top of the stripe.
