Some poems
Most of these I've never shared with anyone, so if you have any comments.. questions.. anything.. I would be really interested in hearing.
All are fairly new, except the last. I wrote it in high school, and had one of my friends (cause I was too scared) read it during English class, because I wrote it for people at my school, and people in the world. Anyway, I thought all of you moonchildren might like it.
Also, my lack of capitalization and rhyme is intentional. I can't explain it, it's just something I do.
Fortune's Wheel
suddenly the room's walls fell.
outside in the courtyard,
outside in the world
i could see them all.
brilliant colors,
spectral shapes,
minding their business.
millions going about their day
to and fro
like ants in a hill.
except some were crying,
some were happy,
tossed about on fortune's wheel.
they all had their place.
they all had their troubles,
every one.
i heard the sad ones wailing
as they spun towards the ground.
and i was with them.
couldn't hate them.
couldn't judge them.
i was on the wheel
with them.
Let in the Light
oh,
no.
so dark
your darkness
spilling over again
froth of night
piercing the skin,
sinking in
veins of blue.
spreading,
a cancer,
eating your soul,
sapping light
from mine.
unfortunate casualty.
help me lift her veil of darkness.
i want
the sun
truth
beauty
calm.
destroy
the blindness,
her throne
of ignorance,
her reign
of bliss
let in
the light.
Thank You
i was
so far from myself.
a stranger in a foreign land
erecting monuments of glory
to the genius of others;
a stranger in a foreign land
erasing auroras in my head
with my own self-doubt.
but this chapter has ended.
thank you.
Walk on By
sometimes we forget
the worms in the soil,
the trees with the owls.
walk on by.
but while you walk
the worms build and build,
making the caverns under your feet,
the caverns under your halls,
tumbling with life.
after the halls fall
the worms dig and dig.
and while you sleep
the owls sing you lullabies.
lulling melodies
guiding your dreams.
This Plastic City
take a walk outside this plastic city
and you might find that the rest of the world
is alive and breathing just like you are.
reject technicolor automatons,
lay in the new grass on rainy sundays,
revel in the fact that you are human.
soak in the fact that you are capable
of speech and sight and sound and compassion
and love. be humane. walk outside yourself.
take a walk outside this plastic city
and reclaim your longlost humanity.

Re: Some poems
These are lovely, I really like the flow to all of them
I adore this one, it says a lot of what I feel about the world and people too ^^ I love the fact that I can look through the poetry in this section and really understand the meanings to all of them. It's like Moon Children naturally understand each other
