Depends on what kinds of things you like posting. Personally, I think Tumblr is great for posting pictures and videos but maybe not so much for longer, written out blogs. Though that doesn't mean that it isn't a good place to post blogs. Most of the people I follow just happen to post really short things.

Best thing I can say it just follow a lot of blogs
You can choose to have a theme like: black&white, pastel, hipster, art, photography, anime, music, and just whatever.
I have several. But my main blog I just reblog random things I like and personal bits.
