Hm. I don't think I'm quite ready yet. I just highlighted all the lines I didn't like, and got rid of them all. But I still have a feeling that it can get better. So I'll keep working. But it's getting better.

Okay, you guys! I wrote a song last night, and I'm thinking of entitling it "MoonChild (Alive)". If I do post it here, I'll only be posting the lyrics here because I'm not a singer, but that's only if I think it's fit for this type of competition. It's not really a potion as much as it is a song symbolizing the importance of Integrity, Love and Unity... Should I keep stirring? I want to know!! Ooh, it's bubbling now! Is that a good sign?

I agree with Mimi; you should be able to fully trust in your work and be confident about it. I agree, there is some HUGE competition here. Edit until you feel you have it right. Maybe, read through it a few times before posting - maybe even while posting! - just to be sure you have it where you want it. I started writing songs in fall 2006 and those lyrics are soo embarrasing to read. Be sure you're comfortable with what you have. I think that's the important part

Percolation is a good sign. Now pop the bubble that fascinates you most! Taste its splatter and encapsulate it in words! The song may have elements of of Integrity, Love and Unity, since they are closely related, but remember you're "supposed" to focus on just one of them.

...I'm not sure about my song. Then again, I'm a bit paranoid to begin with... The nerves eat me alive!! I'm not sure it's fit for this sort of competition either, but just to get feedback would be great! If there would be a poem/song contest next, maybe I'd be more sure of myself... I have very low confidence levels, but that's just me... Grr

If by the 17th you're still not sure, you should trash your song. Any such offering attempted to be made at the Table of Love will permeate with the stench of your lack of trust in yourself. You may even ruin all our appetites, despite whatever capacity we've obtained to forgive. Having said that, what's there to lose now? Sufficiently humiliated and stripped of your dignity, surely nothing can be worse than my criticism of something I have yet to read! Know that even the greatest eloquence can never substitute confidence. If all you change is the belief in your creation, then it's worth showing. I just hope you don't mix a tincture of "holy crap" for us!

Haha! I don't know what to say to that except for... Well, good thing there's a word in front of "crap!" lol Yeah, I didn't plan that one out too well... My strange sense of humor is insufficient here... Anyway, I've set some goals for myself (finally!): I'll be posting the song later today or early tomorrow. It's not that I don't believe in the song; I, actually, think it's quite good by my songwriting standards. I'm not even nervous of getting feedback; I'd love some! I guess that it's just that I'm nervous about first impressions when it comes to my work. I'm not asking for pity on that; please, be brutal! I need advice!! Again, I'll post later today or early tomorrow and send in a cover letter soon after. (Getting excited!! )

i was just confused as to it. but thank you for answering! this is a great great GREAT idea! <3 i love these contests so very much! they are inspirational and each time i participate, everyone is so kind and they compliment and give me suggestions

You could try to do that! They shouldn't count that as a disqualification; your submission was really good!! Just make sure the cover letter is still between 200-300 words.

My cover letter has 27 words, because I though that limit words is for potion, When I read I was sure that cover letter doesn't has limit words. I misunderstood ;( I thought that in cover list I have write 2-4 sentences.... ;( ;( ;(
