I haven't been keeping up with my blog at all but I really wanted to share something with you all.

I think it's David Guetta and Sia who have this song called 'Titanium' out. It's like.. my favourite song at the moment and its pretty much on repeat all the time on my ipod. I like the beat of the song but what spoke to me the most are the lyrics. The song is pretty much a big 'fuck you' to everybody who's ever tried to put you down.

I miss my mum at the moment because I couldn't go home for the holidays but i spoke to her for like an hour today and feel much better. i even did some cooking that my granny taught me when i was younger
I'm also seeing my sister next week. we're going to barcelona together and i can't wait. I'm actually more excited to see my sister than i am about going abroad. I know i have said it a 100 times but ill say it again - i freaking love that woman. with everything i've got. she is absolutely 110% my best best best friend and i would give anything for her and her happiness. anything.
So, i wanted to make her a present just to show her how much i cared about her.
we already have those hearts that break into 2 - she has one side and i have the other but now i got matching bracelets and i got the word 'titanium' engraved on them and that to me represents 2 things:
1) the love i feel for her
2) how strong she is. she might not know it but i do and i hope that the bracelet will be a constant reminder to her.
At first I wanted to get something really soppy engraved like 'two halves, one body' or smth like that but then i heard the song and I knew what i wanted to put on it.
I hope she likes it

Other than that, my life is pretty awesome at the moment. there's a lot of stress though and practically no time off but i am enjoying the ride. i haven't even pulled any of my angel or spirit cards lately because ive felt like I am completely on the right track and don't need any help with finding the direction im supposed to be going. i feel like i am on the right track.
i cant wait to see what future has in store for me. but i have a feeling whatever it is, its going to be amazing

OOOOOKAY. So I haven't blogged in such a long time but here it goes!

I just got a new tattoo yesterday and even though I posted about it in the what are you thinking thread, I wanted to post it here too and tell you what it actually means.



So, I got 'Never dull your shine' tattooed on my upper back, in my own handwriting. Mostly because I couldn't find a font that I liked and also, this quote is something I've been telling myself for awhile, so it seemed to be super personal in my own writing.

What does it actually mean.. When you read it, I guess you'd think it's the same kind of meaning as 'never give up', 'believe' etc. But actually, it doesn't. It actually means that you should never undervalue your worth. There are so many people around me who are getting into relationships and getting engaged with people they barely know. The latest one is my coursemate who recently got engaged to her boyfriend.. I'm not close to her, so good on her but I know she said a few months ago that she wasn't even sure whether she wanted to be with this guy and that she wasn't even sure whether she was straight or gay..

Another side to it is that we always change ourselves to fit our surroundings and standing out is hard. But we shouldn't compromise ourselves because of others. If everyone is wearing gray and you want to wear pink, you shouldn't HAVE to wear gray too.. Wear pink, if you want to, god dammit!

So, long story short.. This is a reminder for myself to have the courage to be myself AND never compromise myself for the liking of others. And never ever ever give up opportunities for someone else. Because if they really love you, they would never make you do that in the first place.
And also that there is nothing wrong in believing that you deserve the best; so don't settle with something that's not what you think you deserve.

It looks awesome! I love hearing about the meaning behind people's tattoos. I have to admit I did at first just think of it as a "never give up" sort of thing, so I'm glad you really explained it in depth. I like your last paragraph especially-- I'm always seeing people change for others and give up parts of themselves that were already beautiful. This is the perfect phrase to be passed on to a lot of the people in my life...

Haha as much as I like quotes like "this too shall pass" etc, this one is really not meant as a cheesy one.
I love what you said, it's so right. People are changing themselves for the sake of others and not always for the better. I have probably been in that situation myself so this is a reminder for myself never to do it again and always be myself.. No matter what.
