Kerli's birthday present

Little Phoenix reminded us about the Moonchild Project we did a few years ago and suggested we did something similar.. Can we get enough Moonchildren together? And what shall we do?

No there hasn't been any ideas put out yet! I've been cracking my brain too and hopefully I'll come up with something.

OH why don't we make kerli a deck of moonchild cards?? So we can come up with a list of words and then each person makes a design for that word and then ill print everything off and send it off to her for her birthday??

and then whoever makes the card can write a few lines about the card so that we can put together a booklet of the 'meaning of the cards'

^ I think different styles would make the deck more fascinating! So the way you decide to create your card should be entirely up to you :)

it would be awesome if everyone could send me their card in the post but i dont really want to do that as a lot of moonchildren can't afford to post anything.. and the backs should be the same for the deck of cards so it would be easier for me if i could print out all of them myself..

Also, that way they'll all be the same size and "texture", so you can probably make a pretty case for them as well.

I think you could do it by hand if you want; draw, paint, make a collage, anything. Just make sure it's flat enough so you can scan it, or that you can take a good photo of it. Or do it with you computer :)

i would love to do this if its alright with everyone. i want to be apart of this.

I was thinking that maybe Mimi can make the cards, which would be blank on one side so that we can customize them. It would be much more personal if we do it ourselves and not print it.

If I could build on your idea, perhaps instead of a list of words, those participating could select a song(released or unrealeased) from her discography and make an illustration or poem expressing how meaningful the song is to that particular moonchild.
I think it would be pretty cool because Kerli would be able to see what an impact individual songs had on her fans.
Idk just a thought if you guys are open to suggestions    The Moonchild Tarot Deck sound like a very interesting idea too

Okay, so many questions!

I was thinking of Tarot cards rather than playing cards. So basically, she can actually use them when she gets the deck.

And I don't know about the songs.. I feel like doing a whole separate thing from her music would be much more creative..

We can obviously have 'the moon', 'moonchildren', 'utopia' cards and then we just write what the cards mean as she pulls one out.

i really like the idea of sending the cards out, it would be epic. although I can't afford it, there wouldn't be a point in sending the whole deck around and me sending the separate cards to a bunch of people will get very costly. and again with the printing, i don't have the money to print them now but i will have around december time..

but i suppose we can somehow sort it out if you really want to do it by hand. i can maybe send the back design and tell you exactly what paper ill be using so then you can print it out yourself and post it back to me?

I think it would be much easier if we state a certain size and everyone makes 1 or two cards and sends them to one person in US, who then can gather all the cards and send them to Kerli!

We can also write our names in the corner of the cards, so Kerli sees who wrote that. ^.^

We don't have to copy tarot cards exactly. Angel cards have 44 in example. But we are free to do as many as we want and I think even 20 would be more than enough.

I think we need to do a poll on the sending thing. I'm not too excited about giving my address to tons of people but if that's the way you want to do it ill have to accept it.

The cards should also be flat so no sticking 3d butterflies etc.

so we make the card then send it to you? what about the details like what if more then one person does the same card word thing? i think i need more info on this. but i do know we did this awhile ago for a contest.

ok i agree! maybe there's another moonchild to send them to, like moonchild mickey? i think she has an adress for fan mail or something, if not we could probably just send them to kerli ourself, but then it would be all diferent and not togther, unless we provide something for kerli to put them together. or i guess she could make something.

The remaining 56 cards are the Minor Arcana, and are divided into four groups or suits: Swords, Pentacles (or Coins), Wands and Cups.

Ofc you are not comfortable, who would be! So it's either we do it like we did with The Book, or we scan it, right?

I think scanning and digital sending would work best, then at least no card will get lost/be late! And it would be easiest for mimi (and everyone else, you wouldn't have to hunt for the exact same paper).

And like I said before, all the cards would be of same texture, and isn't it the point with these kinds of cards that you're able to pull them at random? Different feel to a card, and you'll probably pull it easier, or even avoid it.

I'd be willing to help with the financial side as well. It would be great to have them printed in best quality ^_^

I agree with digital work! You can all draw it on the paper and than just scan it. Or you can even draw it on the computer if you like it more. <3

We're not making tarot cards though. We're making moonchild cards so we make the rules.

And Forace I agree with you. Having them digital is the only way we could make sure they're all the same and look like a proper deck. It's still personal as we have made them so she will love them regardless.
