In 1991, the Austrian founders of Lomography discovered the Lomo LC-A.[1] As the company states, they were "charmed by the unique, colorful, and sometimes blurry" images that the camera produced.

It's basically the use of a certain camera and film to produce the complete opposite of what we all expect photos to be. Higher saturations, more vivid color. blurry. it's just different. It's hard to explain I'm sorry lol. Been kinda absent for a bit. It's just hard for me to get out of the whole "Pictures must be perfect D:" mode.

lomography is pretty cool. they had lomography cameras in urban outfitters, the last time i went there.

It's a great way to relax and have fun. They are toy cameras, but at the same time you can't get these effects with the toy cameras around here lol

Had heard the name but didn't know what it was... Is this also lomography? It's a photo taken by Sarah Moon, don't know much about her but saw her photos on a museum last year, amazing <:

Oh, I LOVE. LOVE. LOVE lomography!! It's basically photography using 'old' analog cameras and film that is processed differently to produce 'imperfect' images with blur, vivid and strange colors, vignetting (a black halo-ish part around the edges of a photo), light leaks (bright red areas where light got into the camera and onto the film), and other effects that are sometimes considered unwanted in 'traditional' photography. I love it because I think it's really expressive.

Unfortunately I don't have tons of money to spend on some of the cameras I want (the basic LCA... the Holga.. the Horizon one... the one that meows when you take a picture and looks like a cat... A polaroid or a polaroid back.. OMG I'm obsessed) or the film but I have an Olympus XA (cheaper and not European but acts pretty much like the Lomo LCA) and just got this awesome iPhone app called Hipstamatic that you can change pretend lenses and film for, and it shoots like all kinds of these cameras. Here's some of the (fake)-lomo pictures it's let me take:
