i love etsy shops!

i do as well, but i do feel that some things are overpriced..

i mean - since i make stuff myself, i know how hard and time consuming it is BUT u can always doubt the quality of a hand made good.. and i was so surprised to see that so much of the stuff on etsy is like over $20..

haha im on a rant now but i really started thinking about it and.. i can't make up my mind about whether handmade stuff should be cheaper or more expensive?

I think it should depend on wether it was made with love and is pretty much unique or cheaper material with lesser quality is used and many pieces of the same itemn has been made - the latter should be cheaper than the former. Being an 'artist' is hard - in a way you want to do what YOU want to do but...you also want to make money...

yeah, this is pretty tricky! But there are so many wonderful things you can get that are hand made. I think it depends on how popular a product is.. if it is very popular and people wanna buy it anyway why not make it a bit more expensive...and if something doesn't sale as good you can make it cheaper... I think that's what i would do...

that's a very good point! for me, in the etsy shop, if those things sell, im not actually making any money out of it because the materials were so much more expensive than im charging.. but even when they're $2 ive only sold 2 lol

aww, sorry to hear that. i wish i could order all kinds of stuff, but i don't have a credit card... But i noticed the most popular shops' owners have a blog for promotion, so a lot of the popularity comes from this. I guess it's all about promoting.

i have 2 glue guns.. i would never go back to superglue!

and i dont want to make them really expensive i mean, with all the things ive got up, im not making any profit BUT i thought people would like to get something they can actually afford & what looks cute

well yea but, i know that hot glue is not as strong as superglue, so your items might fall apart. also, the way it shows is not very professional. [i hope you don't take this the wrong way, they're just suggestions]

making profit could support you in making bigger, cooler stuff. i don't know. the issue of profit is something one has to deal with personally, so i don't wanna stick my nose in it. i just don't want you to sell yourself short.
