Mi-Lu & Almost Fascinators

Hola moon children! So I spent a good deal of time at Hobby Lobby today. For I was trying to make a fascinator for my friend Jeni. Alas, what I wound up making was a little too out there for her so now I'm wondering what to make it into. Any suggestions?



The flowers I found on the floor at Hobby Lobby. hehe. One man's trash, as they say. Anyway, I spray painted the petals of the flowers, showered them in glitter, and then left the centers as they were. I then glued swarovski crystals over the centers, & then hot glued to the nest. The Birds are from hobby lobby too, I attached them to the nest via wiring. The nest I spray painted partially white also and then also covered in glitter. The long feathers sticking out of the nest I also bought at hobby lobby and just glued them in as I pleased. Anywho, it doesn't quite sit right on the head to be a fascinator. Any ideas children?

& then I made this. I glued the same crystals into its eyes, which made me laugh because I thought "how bubblegoth, a hollow-bear" *fable reference* I then lazily glued and wired some cogs onto its back.



Was going for a butterfly or angel look. Cheap, cheaply made, but I thought it was fun. Should it be a ring? Or a necklace? What say ye kids? Oh and the "Mi-Lu" in the post title is only because I pimped a bear and it reminded me of I-Loo (or however he spells his name).

This is cool!!!! I love the bear with the gears! It looks badass! I think it would be cool as both a necklace and a ring but im kinda digging the necklace more (:

What did you do with the birds in the nest?

Well my friend saw the pic and wrote me saying that on second thought, she thinks it might look great against her dark curls lol. So I guess she's getting her fascinator after all.

where do you guys get the bears T_T i have looked at hobby lobby and they looked at me like i was insane ((of course i also told them i was going to behead it....dont ask))

@jayson526: Yeah dude, they were barely in stock whenever I bought them weeks ago too. Had to try a different location to find any & there are none on the hobby lobby site at all. Thinking it's something they're ceasing to carry.

really none on the website either ((should have checked their first but oh well)) i think its evil everyone has them but me T_T i just want a bear head ring XD

Um.....try to be safer in the future and plan things and calculate what you'll need to do. Can't have you needing Hydrogen Peroxide, tweezers and gauze for each project. Good luck w the ring and stay safe!

its alright I is tough XD and i usually need that kind of stuff when i do crafts
i once sewed a shirt to my hand....of course i think it was a bad idea to do anything that involves needles when i just got home from the hospital on pain meds XD
