Grew up in a town that was so far away
Where the children bailed hay and they played through the day
We grew up on hilltops and we called it our peak
We swam in the creek, cleaned the mud off our cheek
We complained of our boredom, there was nowhere to go
Play pretend with a show, practice with my lasso
In the fields we lay blankets, look at stars through the night
The mosquitoes may bite, but we still remain quite
My parents tired to give me everything id ever need
Grew just like a seed, we became a family
I grew up from the woods in which I was planted
Never took it for granted, with my friends I had landed
Snuck out at dusk to the old apple tree farm
No need for alarm, did not mean any harm
Sometimes I wonder how I made it this long
It is here I belong, my home made me so strong
And when I get lost like im in outerspace
By the luck of god's grace, i'll always have this place
