Hello from a Canadian girl~ ♥
Hello everyone! My name is Katherine, though I'm better known as Rommie here online.
I come from the magical land of Canada, and am a 17 year old type 1 diabetic who loves drawing and writing stories. I dream of becoming a graphic novelist and sharing my crazy brainchildren with the world!
Here is my DevinatArt if anyone is interested: http://rommie-angel.deviantart.com/
When I'm not listening to music(which I'm addicted to) and drifting in dreamland I enjoy dancing, playing video games, reading, stargazing and studying symbolism.
Occult things fascinate me. I'm also very much into the horror genre. Not gore fests as much as psychological horror. Y'know, the stuff that screws with your head. Silent Hill is my all time favorite. I adore the monster designs, music, atmosphere -- just everything! Currently I'm quite in to Dead Space also.
I found out about Kerli two years ago through a friend's favorites on YouTube, been a fan ever since.
I'm so glad I discovered her. She is such an inspiration to me.
I can't wait to meet everyone!
I.L.U

Welcome!
You're pretty much like me, then :D I also make art, write and play video games. Silent Hills are my favorite horror games as well! And Resident Evils. I play a lot of games, we have quite a collection of PS, PS2, NES, SNES, DS, xbox and PC games :B
Your art is awesome! I'm also on dA :3
Also I have diabetes in my family (my dad has it and a cousin died from it). I haven't gotten sick, though. Yet :/
I'm Silja, btw :3

Nice to meet you Silja!
Yay, Resident Evil! It's awesome to meet another horror gamer! I too own a reasonably large collection of PS2, PSP, N64, GC, DS, 360 and PC games. Although a lot of them actually belong to my brother, he lets me play them as much as I like. xD
Thank you! And wow, your art is amazing! I'm really loving your style.
Sorry to hear about your cousin. I wish your dad all best and pray that you'll never get this illness. Let's keep fighting the good fight against diabetes. <3

Re: Hello from a Canadian girl~ ♥
Oh yeah, we have a Wii, too! I got it for Christmas, so I forget I own such a thing :D GC games work on it, so we'll have to get those as well! And more GBA games :3 Some of my games are shared with my little sister, like Final Fantasy VII belongs to both. And Tombi. Also some of the games I now have are actually my dad's (the Metal Gear series).
Aww, thank you! I've always thought my style is crappy xD But now I think that I just have to develop it more, so it'll please my own eye as well :)
And thanks again :) My cousin has been gone for years now. And dad's diabetes got worse last year. Before he managed with pills and correct diet, but now he has to take insulin shots :< I'm pretty sure I'll be fine, I'm learning to eat more healthy and I exercise!

Welcome aboard Rommie! ^-^ You becoming a graphic novelist would be amazing! It seems moon children share many of the same passions and hobbies. I.L.U.!
Oh, and have you a favorite graphic novelist?

Re: Hello from a Canadian girl~ ♥
Thanks Wolfeh!
That's what I already love about this place. Immediately I felt among friends.
As for favorite graphic novelist...
I'm a huge fan of Erika Kari and her pretty, witty work Vampire Doll Guilt-na-Zan.
I also really love Katsura Hoshino the author of D.Gray-man, and Makoto Inoue, the author of Fullmetal Alchemist.
In the past I've read mostly manga, but more recently I'm really trying to broaden my horizons. It helps that my local book store and library are starting to carry more graphic novels.
If you have any recommendations I'd love to hear them!
When I don't have something new to read I turn to webcomics, which I love just as much. My favorites being Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name, Mortifier and Lackadaisy. There's another neat one called No Rest for the Wicked, but it hardly updates anymore.
Again, if you know of any cool webcomics, please let me know!

I wish I could help you out! but alas, my manga hook up and I stopped talking years ago and I've been deprived ever since. Any you'd recommend? I'd assume the ones you've mentioned here would be a nice starting point. ^-^
Are you much into regular novels? Ah, however, DO love fullmetal alchemist. Well, the show at least, is there a manga? *so green it's not even funny* Oh and I'm about to check out your deviantart page.

Omg! I love your art! Forbidden Fruit and Sending Souls to Angels are probably my faves. ^-^ How long have you been at the craft?

Thank you~ It's a pleasure to meet all of you! >u<
Let's see... along with what I already mentioned I'd definitely recommended Rurouni Kenshin, Pandora Hearts, and +Anima.
The Fullmetal Alchemist anime is based off the manga, which came first. It's really good.
Oh yes, I'm very much in to reading regular novels as well!
Thank you! I've been drawing ever since I can remember, but started taking it seriously only two or three years ago.

Re: Hello from a Canadian girl~ ♥
Well it definitely shows. I'd like to see your work in another couple years. I'm sure it'll be completely sick.
I will try some of those! Thanks! And if you ever feel like reading reg novels, "Hyperion" by Dan Simmons and "The Looking Glass Wars" by Frank Beddor are two really good reads. Thought Hyperion is really mature and well written and Looking Glass is more poorly written but a fun story still.

That, I have actually looked at before. Did enjoy it but had forgotten totally about it.
