A hair-band I decorated! (+sort-of tutorial)
I'd been wanting to do this for a long time, and last night I was feeling so happy I got inspired :D
I have a black hair-band, that looked pretty dull on its own, so I wanted to spruce it up. It's covered with satin (?), so it was easy to modify.
First I gathered all sorts of stuff I thought I could use. Lace, ribbons, chain, pearls and a little satin rose. Also I needed scissors, needle and thread, and a hot glue gun :D
I started with making a string of pearls, and I sewed on to the side of the hair-band. The pearls are just plastic, and one bag cost about 1€ or 1,50€.
Then I glued a chain to it! I tried sewing it first, but the links of the chain had small gaps in them, so it dropped from the thread... My first time ever using a glue gun, and I must say I love it already :D
I took the chain from a necklace that couldn't be used, because the lock was broken.
Then I sewed some white net-like fabric to it. Maybe it's called tulle? I'm not sure... I don't remember where I got it, probably from my dad's wedding. They were made into little pouches and tied with a pink ribbon. They had candy inside them, and they were given to the guests. I had to hang onto them in case I needed them some day ;) I just folded it as nicely as I could, and sewed it on securely.
After sewing the tulle, I sewed some black flowery lace on it :D First I folded the piece of lace fabric and sewed the sharp point, so when I opened it, it had some folds in it then, too. I cut the edges in zig-zag fashion.
Then I cut a piece of ribbon and folded it to look like a bow. I sewed the center, so it would stay put! :D
And I glued the bow on the hair-band!
And finally I glued the little satin rose on top of everything :)
I tried to take pictures with the hair-band on my head myself x) My hair looks greasy for some reason, but it's not! It's just... shiny and thin :B Also I haven't dyed it for a while, so you can see my roots...
Hope you like it :3

Thanks! :D
I don't usually wear hair-bands either, but I like those all fabric ones that cover a part of your forehead (goes along the hairline). This is my only hair-band xD And now it's unique! I've been thinking that I could start wearing more hair accessories, since I almost never wear them :3
It turned out beautifully, yes. Maybe even better than I imagined :D

So pretty! I almost always wear headbands, even though I have bangs and they're pointless... They still look pretty, at least.
Anyway, I might try to make something like this. I have this black lace with spiderwebs all over it....No chain, but I'll make it work....

Oh wow, that's actually really cool. Makes me want to get an hairband!
Re: A hair-band I decorated! (+sort-of tutorial)
Thanks ^^
I think hair-bands don't fit me, either, but maybe I'm not just used to them, my style hasn't been that girly :D This hair-band is a bit too wide, it leaves a gap in the back :/
Ene, you should get one! Show everyone how confident you are :D
