Can guy's & girls just be friends?

So do you think Girls and guy's can be just friends?

Yeah, I have a lot of guy friends. A lot of times I get along with them better than my girl friends.

Oh yeahhh. Every one of my close friends is male so it can definitely work out.

My bestie is a guy and he's like my brother. I can talk to him about anything that I can talk to a girl. So yes, guys and gals can be friends. And I always say, every girl needs at least a close FRIEND who is male.

Of course! I had a guy friend and he was really nice. Someone said to me that it looked like we're in a relationship. We don't hang out more cause we're very busy and he got other friends and so do I.
But I do have another guy friend who is a year younger than me and several cm taller than me -.- He's really fun!
But I don't like hanging out with boys as much as girls cause I'm very shy around them and I'm not used to hang with boys because of the way I was raised

Yes. It is so annoying how people always assume your interested in each other. Maybe its their age but when I try to talk to guys. I know they are awkward. It's exasperating because I just want to be nice!

I believe so, as a matter of fact, one of my best friends is a girl, and she's even engaged! =) But it's annoying when people say that once a guy and girl talk they must be in love by default, I mean I know it can be a joke but it's often annoying =P

APPARENTLY NOT. You can't just hang out with someone and be laughing and talking and lightly pushing eachother and joking around without flirting and liking eachother. Like, really? I think guys and girls can be just friends, but not according to my friends. Ugh.

Well, easy for me to say, don't know about you guys. I've always been a bit of a tomboy, even though I dress and look girly. I'm a gamer-nerd-heavy metal-person, so pretty much all my close friends are guys. I had more girl friends when I was younger, but with my growing passion to games... Eeh, I didn't have much in common with girls anymore :/ But my friends are awesome whether they're guys or girls. I just have more fun with guys; our humor is similar and we arm wrestle ^^

ok this is morbid, but I think it makes sense for me.

They say there is 6 handles in a casket for a reason. When you die, if you have made 6 close friends in this life, then you have done a good job. I think making friends is hard, but if you can get 6 close friends, this is it, JUST 6, then you will be ok.

Seriously though, of course guys and girls can be friends two of my close friends are guys. idk what I'd do without guy friends because none of my girl friends like the x-men movies, I always go with guys to it.

Of course.. I have a best friend who I know for , i don't know, 20 years? and he's like a little brother to me...

i have a friend whos a guy.

Well, my bestestestest friend is a guy and for many years people have been talking about us liking each other and making bets when we would finally get together and stuff. It was damn annoying and really put our friendship under pressure. These days it's better, but we still get strange looks sometimes, because we're quite childish and whenever we have to laugh our classmates look at us like "OMG just admit you're into each other."
I think the biggest problem with mixed gender friendships is society and its narrowminded way of thinking.
