A song that influenced you?
Is there a song that you think has had an effect on you or influenced you? With its lyrics or its melody? I have a few but I think the strongest was Save Me by Avenged Sevenfold. It makes you think. It made me think. x

Re: A song that influenced you?
kerli's songs have influenced me a bit.
Forgotten Children by Tokio Hotel is really deep.
I feel sympathy for the children who lived out on the streets because of that song.

Back when I was really depressed, Fully Alive by Flyleaf made me really appreciate what I have. I tend to listen to that song when I'm down because it reminds me that there are people out there who have it worse that I do and still enjoy life, so I should be grateful for what I have too.

Re: A song that influenced you?

Scar Tissue ~ Kerli
Yeah, I know Selena Gomez did her own little version, but I like Kerli's better. Her voice is soft and makes me think that everything will be okay when it isn't... things have been hard lately and the song just makes me feel better.

Kabul Shit by Lily Allen. She has a way of turning the most depressing songs into a peppy song. And of course, most of Kerli's songs.

Re: A song that influenced you?
Three songs in particular have had a massive impact on me and my life:
Kerli - Walking On Air
It always makes me feel like I can be anybody I want to be, regardless of other people's thoughts or opinions. I consider it the theme song to my soul.
Kerli - The Creationist
This one makes me think about all the good and beauty in the world. It spoke to me so much when I first heard it, it's like the song of my innocence and happiness. During hard times, it lets me know that there is a lot right with my life - this was especially important to me the first time I listened to it. I knew I wasn't alone.
Alice Cooper - Stand
This is the song that got me thinking about showing who I really am to the world, instead of worrying so much about what other people might think if I seem strange. It told me word for word what I really needed to do to move on, how I could change my thoughts about myself and others for the better. It began a massive revelation for me, like Kerli's music did when I first fell in love with it, except with Kerli it was more of a gradual, unconscious realisation that there really were others like me. This song inspired me to actively think about how things needed to change, then act on it more decisively than at any other time in my life. It brought out my courage. All of this could be ripped straight from a book of my life:
"Just a face in the crowd
Feelin' lost, down and out...
Millions more just like you
Afraid to do what they wanna do...
Lots of losers hanging round
Only there to bring you down
Get your feet up off the ground..."
And now I'm living by these words from the same song. "Put your hands in the sky, let your freaky colours fly"

Re: A song that influenced you?
Several Hatsune Miku songs have inspired me to experiment with new vocal effects.
Vahinkolapsi - Kurja Ihminen inspired me to write songs in Finnish.

Re: A song that influenced you?
Hm.
I can't really think of any insanely influencial songs.
I guess Darlin by Avril Lavigne...
And several Kerli songs, such as Supergirl.
Most of the songs that have influenced me are very ballad-like and empowering, mostly by female artists.
