Anyone wanna test something really quick? try and find out if this song is in 4/4 time and if the tempo is 75 bpm. =| I've been using this and it's perfect, but it's weirding me out because all of the melody's notes land on a 1/3 of a beat and it's getting frustrating. Help any musicians out there? :p

But yeah, right now I'm transcribing it onto Finale Notepad, but it's seemingly too complicated in terms of tempo.
If anything, I just want the original piano scores if anyone's found them! Thanks!

Again, the song is "Goodbye" ;]

I would help, but Finale is the best thing I have to help, and if you can't get it I probably couldn't either, since I only got it recently.

Ah, it's okay. I've been working on this project for one day really. I've tapped my hand for a whole minute to each beat, lol.
It seemingly is in 4/4 time and also 75 beats per measure..

Like, the thing I don't understand is how the melody comes in at such an odd beat!! I'm almost ready to pull my hair out, lol..

I mean, seriously, why are there notes coming in at a 1/3 of a beat?
And I know it's right because I played it synchronized from Finale and iTunes and they both come in perfectly..
Yet the tempo never become unsynchronized... so I'm just questioning the time signature and also even the tempo.. I can't really work in 6/8 time, so if that's what it's in, I'll just have to close this project. I can't work with 6/8 time for some reason.. Confuses me much xP Even though I've been reading music for 7+ years..

*EDIT*
Please excuse the last measures, I can't remember if I had fixed the notes so it may not actually be right. I didn't work on it yesterday and I haven't checked it as of now. Razz

*EDIT*
Also, ignore the weird use of rests at the end of measures. I'll fix those up to longer notes that finish to the end of the measure. Either way, it'll sound okay if you follow the pedal's use.

Hey guys, I decided to test something out. 150BPM, twice as fast as I had originally thought.
It looks like it will work out better! I'll post up in a little while when I rewrite it all and see how it all fits in. :]

Been an hour and a half since I've started.
Alright guys, It seems that I've finally pieced it together much better. I decided to up the bpm to 150, double as before.
Also, I took advantage of using Audacity to slow down the original song's tempo by 50% and closely study when the notes come in on the beat.

This is what I got so far and is probably as close as I'll ever get.

If you guys have a piano, give it a shot and let me know! Lol. You gotta be great with your timing and reading though.
Otherwise, try setting it on any music composing software and set it to 150 bpm and enter in the notes as written Razz
If you guys do this, let me know if there's anything I need to fix, but as for now, I'll continue using this method and see how far I go before I get to another obstacle. >.< Which will probably be very soon. Hah.
Oh, Kerli. I wish you had music sheets available for us. I should have tried doing The Creationist before this, it sounds much easier.. Hahah Razz

Thanks! Any help is valuable at this point.
I just got into a phrase which totally goes against what I thought the tempo was..

Technically this post should go under formspring, but it's more appropriate here:

"Hey Kerli, I was wondering if there's any possible way to get music sheets, specifically for "Goodbye"? It's a burden to transcribe because I can't find the right tempo / time signature! :C"

Kerli:
"That's pretty crazy...I don't have the sheet music for it..it was played by this 75-year old jazz pianist called Patti that lives in Oregon:) If u reach out to my friend dreamsequences - he might be able to email Patti and ask if she has it:)"

And so my quest begins. I've sent a letter to dreamsequences already, aka Dave, and hopefully he can help out in contacting her. :]
