I'm just a bit surprised that even Mimi has gone...She, the owner of the forum, most active one and everything else incl...
I saw the pics that Kerli is back in LA...and reunited with V? Uhh...
Yes, surprised about Mimi as well.
I saw LA pics too. Hahah I don't know why, I feel like there are two Kerlis: LA Kerli and Estonia Kerli. Weird.
Re: What are you thinking?
I just logged back in here after so long, though I wasn't a very frequent poster myself I would check in here from time to time.... I'm surprised to find the forum so empty
Anyway, hello again to all still here, whether lurking or posting

Re: What are you thinking?
*waves* how are you doing?
Ok so to carry on the conversation you guys were having, I agree about Kerli seeming to have separate LA and Estonia personas (from what she chooses to show to us anyway) but I think it's probably because the two places are so different. Estonia = home, family, friends, magic, and all her past, LA= her career-related things, etc. However, I miss when she used to blog on the iamamoonchild website- it felt so intimate I guess? I miss the whole army of love 'era'.

What's up with the "mama moon" thing? I read a post under one pic of Kerli in Instagram and I got cold shivers of disgust Jesus Christ.

^ That's what all the kids are doing now a days. Everyone is calling their favorite singers mom/mommy/mama now I can't wait for this trend to be over.
I'm glad Kerli is still friends with Vespertine, I was a little worried.

Re: What are you thinking?
OMG, Lilee this is so ridiculous, didn't know anything about it before HAHAHA. What about Papa V for Vespertine? "wink"
.......
Oh btw, there will be one song in "Eesti Laul" semi finals (winner gets to perform in "Eurovision 2016" competition) that's co-written by Kerli. Unfortunately the song has not been released yet but I pretty much have high hopes on it. Iiris and Kerli and Ago MUST be a GREAT combo!
Anyway, this is it:
«Immortality» - Cartoon & Kristel Aaslaid (Ago Teppand, Hugo Martin Maasikas, Joosep Järvesaar, Kerli Kõiv, Iiris Vesik, Kristel Aaslaid)

I didn't know about the whole 'mama moon' thing, since I only follow Kerli on facebook and never read comments. Sounds kinda icky to me
Lilee wrote:I'm glad Kerli is still friends with Vespertine, I was a little worried.
Me too. I sort of missed seeing him in her posts.
Re: What are you thinking?
@Liisu- Lol, Papa V xD I dare someone to call him that on instagram and see how he reacts!
I did hear about the song for Eesti Laul! I'm so excited! I'm not familiar with all the writers, but that fact that Kerli and Iiris helped you know it's going to be magic.
@kiran- I agree with you, I think it sounds creepy O_o;

Re: What are you thinking?
Speaking of the song for Eesti Laul, I'm excited for any new music to be honest. Even though there's a lot of old unreleased Kerli songs I haven't listened to properly, I would like to hear something new from her.
Re: What are you thinking?
I'm both nervous and excited for new music. I feel like we might get some serious dark magic that came from the Estonian forests... but I also feel like, given some of the most recent music we've heard, that my idea of dark magic sounds may not be the same as hers.

I agree. Although a small part of me hopes for even better lyrics and an instrumental like 'saima (journey through the fairy land)'.

I feel this way too. I just hope we'll get to hear that new stuff soon.... I mean, waiting for Utopia was so annoying, I almost gave up on her completely. Every month was like "new music soon!!!!!!!!!!!" and then nothing.
Re: What are you thinking?
I heard that the Eesti Laul song is gonna be a dance song...I was really hoping it to be a pop-rock kind of song like Kristel usually performs, but naaah Oh well, let's wait and hear.
I feel a bit sorry for V. I doubt that he knows that K dated Jö in Estonia. And if he knows then....yes, forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.
But ps! as much as I know, at least some of K's new songs are gonna sound like the old "Love is dead" era songs

Liisu, what is she like in real life? kerli? I always wanted to ask you that. Haha
Re: What are you thinking?
My partner and I FINALLY found an English version of You and I/Finding t.a.t.u. last night and Creepshow started playing and re-awakened the inner moonchild once again I hope Kerli's new music has a bit of that roughness in it, although I'm still very happy with keeping Love Is Dead on repeat.
I've just finished the final exams of my final year of university (undergraduate, anyway) so I'm hoping to get back to the forum (for the hundredth time) and tumblr now because I've missed the creative people I used to have in my life. I haven't even written anything creative in years and my witchy books have been collecting dust on the bookshelf :/
I hope you are all well <3

Same here! I recently listened to Love is Dead after quite a long time, and I'm falling in love all over again.

This! I haven't been writing or drawing or making crafts for nearly three years. I have begun to slowly write in my diary again, the last entry was in June this year. I feel like my imagination has collapsed into itself
Very well, thank youIridescent_Revival_<3 wrote:I hope you are all well <3
Re: What are you thinking?
@kiran, maybe the forum can be a good place for creative brainstorming like it used to be
Re: What are you thinking?
Yes, of course I've been reading through the posts in the 'Handcrafts' part of the forum, and I'll probably go through the 'Poems' section as well to kickstart my creativity
Re: What are you thinking?
Good idea I might start with the 'Stories' section. Moonchildren are so wonderfully creative. Anything that isn't a scientific journal article would make a great change!kiran wrote:Yes, of course I've been reading through the posts in the 'Handcrafts' part of the forum, and I'll probably go through the 'Poems' section as well to kickstart my creativity
I gotta clean my house first though. I feel gross being surrounded by stuff/dust. It's the time of year to refresh!
Re: What are you thinking?
Yes, absolutely! I am in the middle of my research and have been reading too many research articles. It's bored me and I really want to make some thing, I have colour pencils and paper... I can't figure it out.
Hope there isn't too much to clean in your house! I live with my parents and I help my mom do those big cleaning missions one room at a time and it's still tiring :/

Re: What are you thinking?
I suppose it's one of those things where you just have to go at it and fail a few times before getting back into the swing of things? Maybe? I was never very good at crafty things. I've always written things and that's usually how I've done it?kiran wrote:Yes, absolutely! I am in the middle of my research and have been reading too many research articles. Well, there's a loooong story behind my flatting situation this year which means there's always something to do/fix. Counting down the days until January 16 when this lease is done and I'm OUT and away from certain people. But in the meantime, I do what I can by cleaning and doing damage control.kiran wrote:Hope there isn't too much to clean in your house! I also write, and I draw a bit (more like used to draw) and a bit of making jewelry out my old broken stuff... mostly gave it away to friends as presents. Out of these three, I've only been writing poems and the like on and off. I would usually plan out, like yeah I'll draw this, then that, etc. I think I'll wait for inspiration to come to me this time...
I hope it all works out for you <3 I sometimes dream of a little place of my own but the culture here is very, very different. People mostly live in what we call joint family system, you'll find many related families living in one house, with several generations together. It does have benefits, but, yeah, where ever lots of people live in one place it can be trying at times.Iridescent_Revival_<3 wrote:Well, there's a loooong story behind my flatting situation this year which means there's always something to do/fix. Re: What are you thinking?
I keep forgetting where to go when the domain expires D: Happy New Year everyone! Hopefully 2016 is less dramatic
Re: What are you thinking?
Happy New Year, guys. In my country still more than an hour to go though at the moment
Haha, I agree. 2015 didn't start out dramatic for me at least, but the way the second half went... ugh. Family is weird.
Anyway, does anyone have any resolutions? I don't have any proper resolutions, but more of hopes I guess. I hope to spend more time with nature, and interact more with human beings. Maybe pet more cats. Also take more photographs of myself.

Re: What are you thinking?
My resolutions are to stop biting my nails (I started early so I'm onto Day 4 which is the longest I've ever gone woohoo) and to reteach myself Maori with the textbooks at the library. Mine are much less wholesome than yours haha
Re: What are you thinking?
Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you all have a great evening! Still about 8 hours to go where I live.
My resolutions this year are mostly steps up from last year. I want to lose 15 pounds (last year I lost 10) and read some form of spiritual book every month (last year I skipped a few months). I'm feeling really hopeful and excited for this year for some reason; I usually feel pretty "meh" about New Years so it's odd.
Good luck to you both! They may be different kinds of resolutions, but self-improvement is definitely always a great task.

Re: What are you thinking?
Good luck to you as well I should make ToL a resolution as well. More communication with moonchildren! Maybe more people will return to discuss the new music Kerli has coming up? Her recent posts and visuals have gotten much closer to something I can relate to again so maybe others will feel the same? I don't know.

Naa, these are nice practical resolutions One of my best friends had this nail-biting habit too, and I got in the habit of yanking her hands away from her mouth whenever I would notice She also tried that bad tasting nail polish thing. Maybe these fidget rings could help you break the habit?
Maori is New Zealand's native language, right? I have lost touch with mine (Urdu). I can't remember the last time I read an Urdu novel or poetry. Because of the internet, english-medium uni courses and all the books I read, I have pretty much trained myself to think mainly in English

That's actually pretty cool, do you have a list of books you read? And congrats on losing the 10 pounds! I also lost 10 pounds in 2015. Right now I'm working on keeping them off
I was feeling kinda meh about New Year this time, all the comments made me feel a little excited. I pray good things come for all of us. And of course, I also hope ToL gets more active, like Iridescent_Revival said, Kerli's latest visuals/music might attract people back.
Re: What are you thinking?
@kiran: I tried the bad tasting nail polish but I just chewed through it even though it made me gag :/ I'm trying to keep from biting them by painting them with growth treatment polish every time I get the urge to bite.
Yeah, Maori is the native language here, although it's hardly used so I don't get much chance to practice. I haven't studied it since high school where I ended up dropping the subject when my teacher stopped bothering to teach/show up. I'm so jealous of anyone who speaks more than one language fluently! I mean HOW!?

Re: What are you thinking?
@ Iridescent_Revival_<3, I guess some habits are so deeply ingrained they get hard to break :/ I'm sure you'll find a way though. I have a habit of picking and biting at the skin of my lips. It's not so bad, but sometimes my lips look weirdly bruised and I am trying to be more aware of what I am doing and stop when I notice it. I like your idea of applying the growth treatment thing... Maybe I should put on lip balm every time I catch myself picking at my poor lips.
I also get jealous of people who can be fluent in both languages. I think what works is studying a language enough that you get the hang of it, then reading/watching programs and movies/ listening to songs in that language. Worked for me as I learned english more from reading novels than in school. Now have to work on my urdu. Not only is my vocabulary horrible, my handwriting in it has gotten worse over the years.
@stargirlstrike, thanks! These books look fascinating... I only recognize Gala Darling's name though, used to read her blog but lost interest somehow. I think I'll follow your example and read more books too this year

Learning (or re-learning) a language can be really difficult. Watching shows/movie and listening to music in that language do sound like that would be more helpful than just practicing vocabulary and grammar and things like that. I've also heard a lot of people say that practicing it in conversation helps a lot. I want to practice my Spanish with people, but I'm do embarrassed about my accent.

My aunt gave me a great idea - I'm learning German atm, and she told me to listen to audio books. Since I don't know a lot of German yet, I listen to book's I've already read in my native language. So yeah, Harry Potter from a new angle
Re: What are you thinking?
Oh, and watching movies with subtitles also helps I picked up a few Japanese words from watching studio Ghibli movies with english subtitles.
A few days ago I was thinking how cool it would be to learn Farsi (Persian). There's a couple of colleges that offer courses for learning it in my city, but I'd like to finish my current degree first!
