What did you accomplish today?
I got this idea from George Takei on FB; I can't remember his exact post, but it was something along the lines of people usually concentrating on bad things and complaining how something is wrong etc, and that people should share accomplishments and successes more. Because humans draw energy from other people's happiness and enthusiasm, and continue to do the same in their lives. Complaints have a similar effect; you might feel drained from all that.
Like, yesterday I talked with a friend who applied to a course she has been considering for a long time, and we even talked about it year ago how perfect it would be for her. And now she's doing it! She's super excited and it made me so happy, too. And I told her that :) She thought it was sweet. Now I have the feeling like I should be doing something with my life as well :D
So, what did you accomplish today?
Did you finish school with flying colors?
Did you learn something new?
Has it been two weeks since you quit smoking?
Did you empty the dishwasher when asked?
Did you run a whole mile for the first time?
I welcome all accomplishments in this thread, big and small. Big ones require celebration, and small ones are small success stories and baby steps towards something better.

I love this idea! I think this will really help me stay on track for my goals. Now I know where I'll be posting everyday XD
Today I accomplished staying under my calorie limit for the 5th day in a row! Hopefully by tomorrow I'll find that I'm a pound lighter...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Exactly ^_^ I might sound selfish, but I wanted a thread where I could share my accomplishments and people would comment and be inspired themselves. And a thread where I can read other's accomplishments. And every once in a while, those who have shared things here, can look back at all the things they've done and remember how strong they really are...stargirlstrike wrote:I love this idea! Well done! I can't count calories, I'm too simple for that xD And I don't really care, I think I eat too little, anyway.
I guess I can say this is an accomplishment: I had fun at the kettlebell class and I was able to do all the exercises all the way! Last time I couldn't do them D:
Re: What did you accomplish today?
I like this idea too:-D And Silja I don't think it's selfish at all!! I think it's something that can be motivating for everyone participating or reading:-)
As long as you both eat and/or work out in healthy ways I'm happy for you ^v^
Todayyy I found everything on my shopping list without struggles second day in a row! hahaha
I didn't miss any buses!
I got a job at a wedding fair next weekend yaaay ^v^ It's really hard to get jobs in Sweden so I feel blessed even though it's only for two days:-)
I didn't cry for an entire day today! (actually a big accomplishment for me lately so it's good!)
I painted my nails in a blue pastel color that makes me think of Kerli and Zero Gravity and they make me happy xD

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Ooh, a job! Congrats :D Well done with the other accomplishments as well!
Today I cleaned the kitty litter box throughly :D Took out all the old sand, scrubbed all the parts with a brush and water and put in new sand.
I'm finally studying my tools of trade again :o And I started to work on a project.

Haha, this is what our kitchen table looked like for several months...
And look at it now!
So empty D: Before cleaning it had a Morticia Addams-vibe to it xD It only took a few minutes, I don't know why I never got around to do it before. Well, spring is coming soon, I can plant new stuff!

Over the weekend I have basically announced to about 40 people my intentions to become a counselor and a yoga teacher. I got some great advice, encouragement, and the motivation to keep working towards my dreams!

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I'd love to try yoga <3 I'm gonna have to study it at some point, I'm sure it would benefit my body. In different ways than I'm already using it:
My accomplishment for yesterday: I did snatches with a 10kg (22lbs) kettlebell for the first time. I've been doing them with a 7,5kg (16,5lbs) one so far, and I've been scared of using a heavier weight, but it was easy after all! That means, I definitely need to get a 12kg (26,4lbs) one soon :D
A video of how the snatch is done:

Re: What did you accomplish today?
That's awesome, Forace! It looks so difficult @_@ It always helps to find an exercise you enjoy though and it looks like you're really getting the hang of your kettlebell workouts.
I know you've had a rough couple of weeks, Mimi. Great to hear that things are looking up again!

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Congrats KuuLaps! You'll be sore tomorrow if you overdid it, but feeling sore is great when you know you broke the 6 months of nothing.
On a similar note, I was walking to the frozen yogurt shop and passed the Running Room along the way. I decided to earn my yogurt this evening...
I walked in and bought trail running shoes and winter track pants (it's still icy cold in Edmonton), rushed home to change, then ran through the river valley and by the edges of the skyscrapers for two hours. All while listening to Kerli. The beautiful city lights and lit trails made my purchase well worth it. No more treadmills. It may be cold outside but now it's spring in my books! I'll jog a lot more now that I have the right gear - the right shoes make such a difference.
And then I got my yogurt.

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Well done, you guys ^_^ I've been going to that kickboxing class. Except today, my calf is sore. Like, really deep, dunno if it's a muscle or a tendon that's sore or what... So I decided to stay home and not break it completely. I guess that's an accomplishment as well? Knowing your limits and making sure you're OK before doing something that could possibly damage more, even though you want to go do stuff.
Yesterday I managed to vacuum and change the carpet in the bedroom! I had the new carpet rolled in a corner for months, and now I spread it, finally xD Hoho, now in the bedroom, the carpet is red, the curtains are red, the bedspread is red... :3

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Glad you are taking your body's signals seriously, I think that was a good call:-)
Haha yay:-D Sounds super cozy, red is such a nice color for a bedroom in my opinion ^v^
Todaaay I got up 6 after three hours of sleep. Didn't even have to run to my bus! I found out new things about my behaviour in some social situations at my psychologist (social anxiety therapy) which was really interesting actually ^v^ uhmm and that was about it.
We totally had some magic spirits or something in our house today! A massive mirror cabinet/locker fell down from a wall in our bathroom, and nothing broke except for two old lipsticks and a hairspray bottle, and well, the cabinet thing.. but it's not much as there was a glass shelf filled with perfumes underneath and several fragile things in the cabinet thing... Not a scratch on the wooden table or sink that it landed on either... So strange! But probably meaning tomorrow's accomplishment will be to clean up that bathroom and trying to put the things in order haha... Really hoping I won't get 7 years of bad luck for every broken mirror though, another 35 years of bad luck wouldn't be a hit män

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I just finished FFVII O.o
For the first time ever, after all these years. It was too easy, I didn't mean to do it... I was just jokingly testing if I could do it, and it was too easy xD
Next: kill the Weapons.

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Yesterday's achievement! I RAN 6 km! I've never run for more than like 1 km on one go and end up heaving and panting my lungs out and feeling like there's a dagger in my side, so this was quite surprising I was able to do it :o And now, a day after, I have no muscle pains or anything! WHEE

That is good.

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I finally got my boyfriend to join me in changing diet and we've both noticed some huge changes! We've been doing it for a while now, but I've already lost 5 lbs. I can't even remember the last time I was this weight. It's so much easier to make a lifestyle change with someone else to do it with me XD
