Hmm, well I think I'll keep my expectations for very late September. If she's still got so much to work on in this amount of time, I don't want to hold my breath on thinking it will come out in the first half of the month.

Honestly, i think it's a really good move not relasing thing now. She still very unknown in the US, so she has to focus on the first few weeks where everything counts. If she release the single cover and the video around the time when releasing the single, that would be a good decision.

For example... a few days before single release, release cover + maybe other infos (length of song etc.). Then, single release and maybe a week later (or earlier?) video release. With this, she has the most possible promo for the single and everyone will buy it this time, not like ZG where the fans already knew the song for over a half year and there was also already a version on the internet to download...

btw this time i hope for a worldwide release. I'm sure she can smash in some european countries. I mean, she did it with Walking On Air. Switzerland, where i come from, was one of the first countries where it charted (i think the second, after Estonia of course) and that was without promo and without airplay and all those things. So this time it can happen again with the great fanbase she has.

Releasing it into a vacuum is risky too, though. If no one even knows it's coming, who's going to buy it besides us core fans?

I do agree that not performing it yet (and especially not playing a half-finished version on some radio show) is a good idea, and I hope for a worldwide release too, but remember, she's been away for a long time, and the music market has changed considerably since WOA came out.

^I think that's partially why she's changed her sound so much. She hasn't released anything for a long time, so even if WoA was fairly popular when it first came out a lot of people might not remember that sound. I'm not sure about other countries, but electronic music is really popular in the U.S. right now.

Yes, I agree, the US seems to have only discovered dance music in the last few years or so, it's basically the bandwagon that everyone hoping for a hit is jumping on at the moment, what I do worry about though is that this album has been delayed for so long that a new trend will come along and she will end up looking obsolete and late to the party...

Of course she wouldn't have that problem if she tried to go for a more unique sound rather than chasing a trend, but that's her choice after all, I'm hoping she brings more of her own charm to it.

I think The label shouldn't have chasing this trend all this time.I mean just cause she's singing popular music doesn't really mean it will make her music sell more either.LEast what i think.

^ I agree. Her debut was the perfect example of an album doing well despite having virtually no promo at all, simply relying on it's own uniqueness and Kerli's creativity. But I suppose those sales pale in comparison compared to the stock that modern day pop stars are expected to shift if they want to keep their contracts.

I guess it's a bit of a dream, but I would have loved to have seen her second album be more of a LID vibe but with a much bigger promo push, I think she could really have made a name for herself in the alternative world. But when she's signed to Island/Def Jam, that was probably never going to happen.

if her label doesn't doesn't help her better with her second album.then it has a good chance to flope too.Just saying..

I wish her second album was gonna be like love is dead too.

I think so too. I mean, there are alternative bands who end up getting really popular with just a little promo push. "Animal" by Neon Trees for example was out for quite a while being played only on indie radio stations but once mainstream radio picked it up it gets played all the time. I like this new sound of music for Kerli too, but I'm worried that like you said "she will end up looking obsolete and late to the party." But yeah, IDJ is going to keep to the trends and even if it doesn't reach the potential it might've had if she had gotten to stick with a different sound, they know dance music is the "thing" and people will buy trendy things.

Maybe once she's out there and getting loads of sales then she may consider going back to her old music. Besides its nice to see Kerli experimenting and trying new ideas. She won't know if it will work if she doesn't take the risk . I get the feeling that after the second album she won't stay with this sound and it will change.

Well, it depends on if she really has changed to this sound because SHE likes it now, or if she REALLY still likes the LiD sound.

^Very true. I mean, she's stated a few times that she is out of that dark place she was when she made LiD. It would be hard for her to return totally to her old sound when she's in a different place spiritually and emotionally. I don't think she'll end up totally abandoning this current sound entirely because she likes the happy-bouncy quality it has, even if her label did have anything to do with pressuring her into it. Besides, she also said she wanted to make the third album more bubblegoth so it could have elements of both LiD and the kind of music she's doing right now anyway.

Someone asked on fb if there will be a video for Lucky Ones, her answer:

"Gonna shoot it really soon. I think we're shooting the single cover this weekend-ish or early next week♥"

I know this is late, but thats not true. They've already spent over or near 1,000,000 on her for this album cycle. Compared to the less than 500,000 they spend on 'Love is Dead' promo. No way they'd waste they're money if they didnt want her to be successful.

I dont see the video or any promotion this month. Its already Sept 7th. It takes weeks to finish a video completely as far as editing. I hope IDJ has radio adds and stuff set up and a big premiere somewhere.

the video won't be out on the same day as the song. Kerli shoots the single cover next week, and the video after, so the video might come out weeks after that. That's usually how most songs and videos are, especially for big name artists.

It would be great if her label did some YouTube ads or something for the song. I'd rather see a picture of Kerli next to a video rather than Justin Bieber or Rihanna (and they have the same label as Kerli so I don't see why not).

Really? I've never seen any, or maybe my memory is bad X_x; But anyways, I just brought that up because I think that might be a fast way to advertise the single. Seems like every time I go on any website there is an ad for Ellie Goulding. I hope her labels gives Kerli that kind attention ^^

The only thing im afraid of is that the single isnt really released on the 18th.
I mean come on, what kind of source is that and why isnt anybody official mentionint it?

i thought about that too^^ but if it doesn't, thats so close to then end of the month we would only have to wait a few more days

I really hope the single does come out the 18th, but if it doesn't at least we'll get Immortal this month for sure

That's true. I thought it was a little weird that the only place it's posted is on that blog and it doesn't even list any actual sources. I can't find it anywhere else.

She did say it on the video chat about the single and album coming out for sure.I think a member from her label was there too. but she said also "Hopeful"

You know what kinda sucks? There's a chance she'll look obsolete and late to the party with the dance music anyway, but it's because of IDJ delaying all of her stuff. She was on the dance bandwagon BEFORE everyone but because of her label, her dance stuff wasn't released when it would've been really fresh. I'm so annoyed with them.

Yes, please. I always get sick of those, it'd be nice to see Kerli (especially when I'm listening to Kerli already).

I knew it. It would be weird if a blog announces when the single will be released, rather than Kerli announcing it herself. That blog wasn't a trustworthy source. We all should have seen it coming (just saying)

if immortal is amazing and lucky ones is crap, nobody will buy the single. Smart label i can see

Still, they said "Lucky Ones" will come out in September, and the first two weeks of this months are already nearly over. Now i'm even not sure if it will come this month :/

At least they're shooting the single cover, that's great! I hope they reveal it already this week or next week. Also, "Immortal" is coming in less than two weeks!

Well if it doesn't get released this month (though I don't see why not) then at least we still have immortal to look forward to

Come on, we knew this would happen. The only place that said the 18th was some blog that listed no sources. It might not come out till the 30th for all we know, but we're getting two songs in one month! That's exciting!

Also, there's a lot of good indie-type bands on the Frankenweenie soundtrack and A LOT of Tim Burton fans who've been waiting for this film, which means it will probably do pretty well and people who've never heard a Kerli song might really love Immortal. Then there would be new fans who would then generate more popularity for Lucky Ones. Maybe not, but it's an idea.

Besides, she says they're shooting the cover. At least we know they're making progress.
