This is why I wanted to hear her studio demo. I had a feeling she wouldn't be so harsh and squeak on the end of each phrase originally and only did that after she hear Demi's version. (does that make sense?)

I love BOTH versions. The song is perfect for both of them (for different reasons, of course) but, still, they both sing it beautifully.

I love both versions! I think it's great that Kerli wrote this and that people know she did! Demi Lovato did a great job and Kerli's version is amazing!

I agree with you. Demis a great singer but sometimes the "squeaking" can get a bit annoying Razz

Well, I think Demi's squeaking's perfect for this song. The first time I listened to this song, even before knowing Kerli composed it, it broke my heart just because of the way Demi sang it.

So I love both versions, but I guess Demi's situation right now made it just so sincere.

I like Demi's SO much better. I love Demi spat out "Paper" and "Scraper" and Kerli just sings them like they aren't important. I also think in the second verse Kerli just sings it. You can feel Demi's anger when she sings it, Kerli almost doesn't seem to care what the lyrics are saying to me. And then towards the end her "I will be rising from the ground." Is so... blank. There's NO emotion. Demi uses it as like a climax for the song. A powerful moment of overcoming and everything, but Kerli sings it as if it was the itsy bitsy spider. I LOVE the song, LOVE Kerli, LOVE her songwriting. But Demi sings it better IMO.

I love Demi's version.. but this one.. it's Kerli, u know. i don't think she has to emphasize certain parts for the listener to understand that it's the 'climax' of the song because her voice tells the story on its own. plus kerli and her accent come hand in hand.

This is major HOT stuff! We could watch/hear Estonian pop princess Kerli performing an acoustic rendition of Demi Lovato's latest hit "Skyscraper" - which she helped penned - a few days ago during a meet & greet event at some Chicago radio station, but we can now enjoy the full studio edit of

her "Skyscraper" demo, and let me tell you it's hotness! The video quality of the acoustic gig was so low it didn't do justice to Kerli's beautiful voice. The studio demo on the contrary makes Kerli SHINE without limits. Kerli's vulnerability feeling, the crystal pure vocals added to the moving lyrics...makes this...MAGIC. I think Kerli has certainly snatched Demi's wig here. Ms Lovato should be mad the demo has leaked, cause I think I'll be replacing her version for Kerli's on my iPod ASAP! The Estonia-native singer is currently working on her sophomore album which she hopes to put out in late 2011/early 2012.

I think in the video Demi does put a lot of emotion into using her face and body expresstions.Kerli puts emotion into it using her voice.

Honestly I dont like Demi's version, I dont like the song...
