Re: Club Lucky in Anaheim!
Its not too much different to any other club..?
i just went to a gay club on Saturday and to be honest, it felt like a meat market, people were just looking u up and down and the atmosphere screamed 'who will i get to sleep with tonight'. i left after an hour and a half of being eyed up.

Me too... I hate clubs... I would go only if Kerli would sing
Re: Club Lucky in Anaheim!
I've been to a gay club once, to watch one of my gay guy friends participate in a drag contest. It definitely had a huge focus on sexuality and promiscuity. I'd like to see a crossdresser who dresses up like an average girl and wears less revealing clothing.
But, in any case, Kerli looks adorable... and she's reusing the shirt from her AoL video, it seems.

I'm scared to go to the gay club in my town, it's like the sketchiest bar around, people get stabbed there occasionally O.O

the only thing that bothers me is that being gay is so popular these days... at least it seems to me like that.

Re: Club Lucky in Anaheim!
I know straight girls going to gay clubs is fairly popular in the U.S., I blame the show Sex and the City. Idk , I really don't want to go to a gay club because I really don't feel like being hit on my females, I can barely tolerate it when guys do it. I know what you mean about being gay is popular but I think mostly it's just a lot more accepted now so more people come out now as opposed to 50 years ago when many just repressed their feelings and did what was expected.Little Phoenix wrote:the only thing that bothers me is that being gay is so popular these days... at least it seems to me like that.

Re: Club Lucky in Anaheim!
Sexuality or being who you are popular? I highly doubt that now and days (and seen serious crap happened on all ends for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals I have friends who are like them and I am in that community) but I won't ignore that each club is different (there are some clubs that are more open to "goth's" more than they are open to "normal" people and etc, so yes it may be different.Clubs have an atmosphere catered to specific people weather or not anyone would admit to that) I went to clubs and I never been in to gay club before and I know they have a different atmosphere weather people believe so or not and I will still like to go to one someday.

Agreed, it seems more like a "fad"...but in my personal opinion I believe everyone is bi/sexual. We're all capable of loving others on the same level as we do for anything else and there are people sexually attracted to animals. To me sex and love have no gender, race, form. It's all based on how we've grown in this world.
And honestly, going to any club you're going to find tons of people looking for sex and looking you up and down. I haven't been to a gay club yet but if it's really worse than what I've seen at regular clubs; God am I terrified. I stopped paying attention to others whenever I go out to a club. My focus is to dance and enjoy myself. Let their intentions lead them where it may, but mine leads me to a happy place where I'm enjoying the night ^.^

I actually met a very "straight-looking" (put in quotation marks because I understand stereotypes don't apply to everyone) gay guy once who said that he prefers regular clubs and bars to "gay" clubs and bars because of how blatantly... out there gay bars are. I understand that gay bars are very important and a lot of people who attend them do so because that's just who they are, but gay bars are not the be all end all of LGBT culture.

Re: Club Lucky in Anaheim!
^Yeah I know plenty of gay guys who hate the club scene because it's overly sexual. The one would much rather go hunting and fishing.
I just don't really like club scenes in general, so yeah I don't really want to go to any club. Well that's not entirely true but my friends don't dance and I don't like dancing alone, so I don't like going to the clubs.
And I somewhat agree that everyone is bi too. Mostly because I feel like everyone has that person that they'd 'switch' for, some people just aren't willing to admit it. (My friends and I were talking about it once and one of them said she would totally hook up with Rachel Ray if she could...)

Re: Club Lucky in Anaheim!
I think clubs are fun. I would go to gay clubs with a gay friend so he could try to meet a new boyfriend, but a lot of the places we went to were all gay guys and a couple straight girls sprinkled in. (and i'd never seen SATC:P) but I haven't been to one in a long time. Years ago at one place, Margaret Cho was the only other chick there. Some clubs in general are full of people looking to hook up and some people go to clubs solely to hook up. I myself love clubs and I mostly go to goth/industrial club nights, but my favorites are at big clubs with different rooms/floors of different types of music. I just love to dance.Quincy wrote:I know straight girls going to gay clubs is fairly popular in the U.S., I blame the show Sex and the City. I agree that I think being gay is more accepted now and that's why it seems more common. Now they can talk about it without fear of being murdered...mostly.

I'm still planning to go to one still but I don't know if I like it or not cause I haven't been there yet so I can't take everyone's word for it if I haven't even gone there yet to judge for myself. I know it's not the end all of the community for a long time, before the club scene. I have friends in the community and out of it and the support is very important. If one doesn't like the club scene I get that and can take their experience but me I like the scene and not afraid to try out new places.

Re: Club Lucky in Anaheim!
I've got gay friends too - I went to the club with my 4 gay friends and one of them is a DJ in the club i went to. Just because I didn't like it there doesn't mean i don't support them going there?
Elven - Im with u on this one, i go to clubs to dance and spend time with my friends and i always ask my friends if they're doing the same because otherwise i dont want to bother. i don't need false admiration in order to feel good about myself.

Re: Club Lucky in Anaheim!
Feeling good about yourself has to be way before anything. Even before having friends in my opinion. I like going to clubs to dance and have a good time too. I just like the atmosphere, the lights and the music. Doesn't hurt to meet people since now and days many people only phone text and stay on the computer these days. Just because people want to go to clubs doesn't mean anything.

why has this turned into such a heavy and a 'deep' discussion?
its nothing for people to get heated over.
